Why forgive? How to forgive?

“Forgiveness is a decision/choice not an emotion. If you rely on your emotion on when to forgive, you can never forgive. But if you decide to forgive, your heart (emotion) follows. – Toni G

Toni: How did you forgive?

Joy Tan-Chi Mendoza : What helped me to forgive was two things. The first was. Before, I used to think I was a good person. So the people who rape, the people who murder, the people who cheat on their marriages—these are evil people. I’m not like that. That’s what I thought in my mind, right? You start to compare yourself horizontally with people. And if you feel like some people are worse than you are, then maybe you are really a better person. But God reminded me during that season, “Joy, all people fall short of My glory.” Romans 3:23 says that. So compared to God. God is the standard in His holiness. All of us fall short. We need grace. We need forgiveness. God reminded me, “Joy, actually, you’re like those people. And it’s only because of my grace and forgiveness that you are in a right relationship with Me. So can you then extend that same grace and forgiveness that I have given you to forgive those people.”

Toni: How did you know that was God talking to you, and how does God talk to you?

Joy: Do you think that Satan would say “I want you to forgive people.”? So when you’re discerning whether it’s the voice of the Lord or the voice of the evil one—there’s only really two, right? It’s either the evil one who wants you to sin or fall, avenge, putting thoughts on you like, “You shouldn’t forgive because then you’re letting them go scot-free.

Toni: .. suggesting you to never forget what they did to you..

Joy: Yes. But if it’s from the Lord, it would be like, “What would I do in your situation? What have I done for you? And you can also choose to do that not by your power but because what I’ve done for you.” And that humbled me so much.

What the fire of God can do?

The fire of God keeps a minister (servant of God) continue the ministry with signs, wonders and fruitfulness. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

When Reinhard Bonnke was in the plane yrs ago, there was a Buddhist monk sitted next to him. When he started to read his Bible, the man asked him, “Is that a Bible you are reading?”
He said, “Yes this is the Bible, the very Word of our Almighty God.” The monk jumped up and left. Although the plane was full he didn’t come up until the plane landed.
“He must have sat on the toilet. You know we are hot,” Bonnke said.

I remember we had the same experience in one of our mission work. We were heading towards Polomolok in 2018. We rode a public vehicle, a van.

My co-missionary seated on my left and a stranger (an old lady) seated to my right. She was restless and kept on shaking her hand and wiping her neck, forehead and face. It is not hot inside the van but she was sweating and scratching her body. This kept on until she asked me, “Who are you? What are you? What do you do? What is that woman beside you do?” Her voice seemed angry and worried and her eyes were helpless.

I said, “She is a pastor, we are both missionaries..why are you asking?”

After that, she told the driver to drop her by although her destination was still less than an hour away. I didn’t ask why she needed to get off from the van. I understood why. I can see in her eyes fear and her body is trembling.

I talked to my co-missionary about her and she told me, “That old woman is a witch, that is why she can not stand the fire of God that we carry.”
โœ… We are hot (with the fire of God) that the unclean spirits can not withstand.

Learned or Relearned: The reason why we need to speak in tongues or pray in the Spirit.

In every idle words that come out from our mouth, we’ll be made accountable of it. (Matthew 12:36)

Prayer:
Lord forgive me/us from all the foul, unworthy, idle words we utter or nonsense talk I even entertained today, and in the past. Anoint and sanctify our mouth and help us speak life to anything that has breath as according to your Word.

I cancel all the negative declarations or utterances of other people towards/ on me which is not in line to your purpose/destiny upon me/us. In Jesus’ name Amen.

The heritage of the last days kingdom based-ministries is that you will not do anything on your own without asking the Holy Spirit’s guidance or God’s approval.

It’s not about being a men-pleaser, but God-pleaser.
It’s not about how many ministries or how great your ministry is that you accomplish on earth…but when faced with God face to face will be asked, “Did I ask you to do that?”

…but it’s about how of these few things God asked you to do that you all perfectly accomplished and obeyed. . no more, no less…what you’re asked to do, do…if you’re not asked to do, then don’t do…even angels don’t come on their own accord or will, but only after they’re sent by God. WHAT IS VAIN GLORY?

While I was waiting on God, I was told by the Holy Spirit to write an article about vain glory.

All the glory belongs to God. From suffering to glory.

Straight to the point, vain glory is the tendency for a Christian to develop the pride and boasting spirit in him for being so spiritually gifted. Itโ€™s a feeling of being so important and special about his self after performing signs, wonders and miracles forgetting that God had performed it through him and that he was just an empty vessel used by God.

Do all have it? Can both Christians and non-Christians have the tendency of acquiring it?

โ€œIโ€™m better than him.โ€ โ€œIโ€™m a better preacher than him.โ€ โ€œIโ€™m the most anointed evangelist since I can perform a massive healing crusade with lots of sick people got healed.โ€ โ€œIโ€™m super-talented since I can play all musical instruments and got the brilliant voice to song lead.โ€ Have you been there? These were just some of the common thoughts and lines of evangelical Christians whether actively or non-actively participating in the ministry or mission field for Godโ€™s work. Nothing is hidden in Godโ€™s sight. He knows our thoughts even the hidden secrets of our hearts.

Matthew 12:36 says, โ€œBut I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will account of it in the Day of Judgment.โ€

Let us be careful with every word we utter. In James 3:1-12, Apostle Paul talks about how hard it is to tame the tongue.

How about these lines? โ€“ โ€œHeโ€™s too sinful to be my friend so I must avoid him.โ€ โ€œOnly with the same religion/ church/ denomination are welcome here.โ€ โ€œI must always stick to my over-religious friends and have nothing to do with bad-influenced group of people. I will just pray that someone might be used for them so theyโ€™ll be reformed.โ€ โ€œIโ€™m not the right person for them, our characters donโ€™t fit and Iโ€™m not ready yet to share the gospel and Iโ€™m afraid I might be influenced by their bad habits. So itโ€™s better to stay on the safe side.โ€ How hypocrites are we if we are thinking like this! Weโ€™re not only violating the โ€œanti-discrimination and anti-favoritism law when it comes to our relationship with our fellow believers and non-believers in Christ. Apostle Paul explained in James 2:1-12 the topic about โ€œFavoritism Forbiddenโ€. As he emphasized in verse 8 and 9, โ€œIf you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, โ€œLove your neighbor as yourself, you are doing right but if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.โ€ Let us be reminded that our neighbors are not only those who are law-abiding citizens but also those who are not. And whether we like it or not, we canโ€™t pick or choose our neighbors. We canโ€™t say, โ€œOh I donโ€™t want them to become my neighbors because theyโ€™re not pleasing, not friendly and not kind to me.โ€ Remember the story of a Good Samaritan.

Vain glory associates with hypocrisy, self-righteousness, self-seeking, boastful and pride spirits. It also includes condemning and judgmental spirits.

Why do I have the burden to come up with this topic? Simply because, most Christians are unaware that they have this kind of spirit. Weโ€™re too focused of becoming holy explicitly not implicitly. Most churches do have church-going members who are unaware that they are demonically oppressed. However, church leaders donโ€™t know how to deal with it because they look plain to them. So these leaders will just conclude that thereโ€™s nothing wrong with their members.

7 Capital sinsย  :Pride- Lucifer, anger- Satan, envy โ€“ Leviathan, avarice โ€“ Mammon, vanity/ sloth โ€“ Belphegor, gluttony โ€“ Beelzebub and lust and perversion โ€“ Incubi and Succubi

Weโ€™re used to the seven capital sins as major deadly sins. Weโ€™re too focused to them but are ignorant that little sin is still a sin. Itโ€™s the same as white lie is still a lie.

We must know who our enemies are. Our enemies are not our brothers, not our sisters, not our parents, not our kidsโ€ฆ Ephesians 6:12 says, โ€œFor our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.โ€ <READ further: Eph 6:10-20>

Lucifer was thrown into the lake of fire through eternity because of his pride. We must not be like him because we are created in the image and likeness of God. We are inheritants of His promise to be with Him in heaven through eternity, not in hell because hell was created for falling angels who disobeyed our almighty God.

What to do: ย We must counterfeit the spirit of pride with the spirit of humility. Our best example of humility is our Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross, though heโ€™s innocent, in order to pay the wages of our sins.ย  โ€œFor the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.โ€ (Romans 6:23) God donโ€™t want us to suffer from eternal damnation so He sent His only Son Jesus Christ because of His great love for us. <READ Colossians 2:14>

Humility is not necessarily doing what exactly Jesus Christ did of dying for our sins on the cross. So you donโ€™t have to physically inflict pain on yourself or nail yourself on the cross just to minimize your sins because it only takes an innocent blood without stain and blemish who could wash away all our sins. None of us have that kind of blood, not even the animals offered as sin offering in the Old Testamentโ€ฆno one but only Jesusโ€™ blood is clean, pure, without stain and blemish. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says, โ€œFor you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.โ€

Humility is admitting that we are sinners and without Jesus Christ as our personal savior we can do nothing.

Humility is reporting to our captain that weโ€™re done with our tasks and say, โ€œWeโ€™re just doing our work so we donโ€™t deserve applause.โ€

1 Peter 5:5 says, โ€œโ€ฆGod opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.โ€

All the glory belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ, not to us. We donโ€™t even have the claim to His glory, not even sharing it to ourselves for we are only filthy rugs-servants of God. Weโ€™re only empty vessels used by Him so that His works will be accomplished to His people. Bond-servants obey without questioning. They donโ€™t have the right to say โ€œnoโ€ to the command or put on limits to their obedience neither put on terms on when, where or how to obey. They donโ€™t have the right to retire or resign from their duty. They donโ€™t have the right to demand wages or incentives. They will serve their master all throughout their lives. See the humility the bond servants have. According to Neville Johnson, the only passport to enter heaven is the bond-servant relationship with the Lord. Are you serving the Lord? If you are, then what kind of servant are you?

Finally, I wanted to share this video entitled โ€œChristians Who Ended up in Hell Because of Willful Sin thought they were going to Holy Heavenโ€. ย http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxCFIjLsHU0

ย This is about a particular minister of God about his travel-experience in hell. He said that God gave him the chance to let him know and for him to share to others that He is not the God of liars, fornicators, adulterers, murderers, proudโ€ฆThis ministerโ€™s supposed to be in hell because he have the spirit of โ€œvain gloryโ€ since he undermined and belittled his pastor. He thought he had done lots of mighty works (wonders and miracles) than his pastor in his ministry.

God is our rescuer and redeemer. Heโ€™s a God of chances. If He would have not let me watch that testimony of him, I possibly would have developed vain glory against the pastor who used to disciple me. And I was wrongโ€ฆso wrong to think that thereโ€™s nothing wrong with that. Who are we to brag about the gifts God gave when in fact He is just being so gracious for giving us such whether we deserve it or not. Itโ€™s not about us being so special among others. Itโ€™s about how fair Jesus is. Itโ€™s about how loving and merciful He is for choosing and calling usโ€ฆback to Him.

Although we think we are living a holy life in this world but still failed to a single aspect of purity in Godโ€™s sight, like for instance, weโ€™re not able to forgive someone before we die, so weโ€™ll still end up in the flame of hell. While alive, we still have the chance to repent and be forgiven. Repentance is a daily basis. It canโ€™t be done in a single or 2-minutes professional prayer like what we usually do when we pray before we eat. You have to tear your heart and cry out to the Lord.

Revelation 21:27 says, โ€œNothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lambโ€™s book of life.โ€

Vain glory is just one of the impurities we have to deal with and asked the Lord to wash away with.

Since most of us Christians donโ€™t know who our enemies are, not fully equipped with the armor of God and weโ€™re always on the defense instead of the offense, we must at least know our enemiesโ€™ tactics. John 10:10 says, โ€œThe thief does not come except to steal and to kill, and to destroyโ€ฆโ€ Everything nowadays becomes โ€˜hi-techโ€™ so does our battle. We know that servants of God like apostles, pastors, evangelists, teachers, prophets, missionaries are labeled as FAVORITE in our enemy, the devilโ€™s ATTACK list. So we must always pray for them. Letโ€™s not let our enemy took advantage of the breaches or the holes on our walls. We must be upgraded with our tactics to fight against our enemies because in the spiritual realms, there is a constant battle happening that directly affects our physical realms.

True intercession or spiritual warfare could be done even if youโ€™re alone provided that your heart and mind/soul are one, been united. Then thatโ€™s the time the Holy Spirit of God took hold of you tightly and together youโ€™ll pray with the Holy Spirit interceding for you with groaning that words canโ€™t utter. Romans 8:26-27 says, โ€œIn the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with Godโ€™s will.โ€

Friends, letโ€™s not lose heart because weโ€™re on the winning side. In Hebrews 13: 5-6 โ€œGod said, โ€˜Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.โ€™ So we say with confidence, โ€˜The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?โ€ <READ further in Revelation 20:1-10 about Satanโ€™s doom >

Interceding and the heart of worship

ย

Isaiah 29: 13ย โ€œThe Lord says, โ€˜These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.โ€™ (They worship me in vain. Their teachings are but rules taught by men.)โ€

In the morning, I prayed in the spirit for two hours. In between, I paused to wait on God then asked Him in my own dialect to give me the discerning heart and to be able to interpret the unknown tongues I prayed and so it was. I was astonished that my prayer in the Spirit is totally opposite to what I was praying in my mind when while I paused in between, I can hear myself speaking in unknown tongues and after a pause, I could hear myself uttering a prayer in pure English. It was contrary to what my thoughts was praying and wanting to pray. Truly our spirit search our inner being and true needs. God knows the best for us. How could I have known that my spirit was so thankful to God? How could I have known that I did wrong, the reason I hear myself asking for an โ€œapologyโ€ฆsorryโ€ฆsorry Lordโ€? How could I have known that I need to worship the Lord more and more expressing my deepest gratitude and adoration first than jumping into praying for someone or asking for something for myself in my mind? If I was not able to pray in the spirit I could have not known all these.

Iโ€™dwanted to pray for my future because I have dreamed of a significant event regarding my career in the early morning. I wanted to know its meaning so then again I asked God to help me interpret my dream. Then I hear myself groaning, crying and wailing. I donโ€™t know why. After that, I saw a vision of blood dropping and Jesus on the cross suffering. I saw His face full of blood with the crown of thorns on His head and His right arm and hand was suddenly focused on my gaze. A large nail was positioned on His palm so I cried out of horror when it was nailed on His palm. It seemed I felt His pain, His agony so I canโ€™t stop crying and wailing.

Next vision was the earth. He demonstrates how and why He died for us. I cried bitterly and guilty because I had asked selfishly, seeking my own.

When I saw the vision, I learned that God wants to show us what and how He suffered for us when He died on the cross for our sins, to save us. He wants us to take the cross and follow Him, to share His suffering but that excludes our own selfish ways, ambitionโ€ฆHe wants a total surrender. I already had seen the movie โ€˜Passion of Christโ€™. Honestly, I canโ€™t endure watching the scene in which He was tortured. Nonetheless, the vision itself reminded me not to forget how He suffered much for usโ€ฆfor His love for us.

At the end, I asked Jesus to stop showing me the gory thing because I could endure no more to see itโ€ฆOne thing, Jesus doesnโ€™t want us to pity ourselves. Self- pity is a sin.

So, do we have the right to say that weโ€™re suffering much more than He had? Can any of us die for the sake of mankind, for its salvation, for paying the price, for its sin?

Our pain is like a pinch or a bite of an ant. Do we have the right to complain then?

Isaiah 29: 15 says, โ€œYou turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, โ€˜He did not make meโ€™? Can the pot say to the potter, โ€˜He knows nothingโ€™?”

ย

Romans 8: 18 โ€“ 27ย Apostle Paul say, โ€œI consider that our sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with Godโ€™s will.โ€

. . .

Another vision I saw is a golden stairway to heaven with a throne full of light then a blood from it descending. I saw the flag of China and America so I started praying for it. Finally, I saw the flag of the Philippines. I was afraid and donโ€™t want to see the vision. The flag was being torn and burned and I saw a dirty pool of water with fetus swimming and jumping out of it. I could even see tadpoles and sperms. I really donโ€™t know what it meant so I pray in the spirit and waited.

ย

The greatest commandment and the heart of worshipโ€ฆ

Mark 12: 30 say, โ€œLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.โ€

This week, I have encountered a very significant event. For the past years, I did not give much attention or importance in worship. I did not give much time and did not even give my heart into it. I simply used to be a church goer like I onlycould sing songs with Christian lyrics if I was in the church as of weekly routine and the rest of the entire week was spent with my work, my hobbies and going out to have fun like shopping.

What really is worshipping the Lord? Why do we need to offer worship to our Creator? Do we simply just worship Him once a week, like only on Sunday in the church service? If that is so, itโ€™s like weโ€™re not feeding much our soul and spiritual needs. Itโ€™ll become malnourished. Nevertheless, God created the world and everything in it for seven days. It was perfected for seven days.ย  Seven is Godโ€™s perfect number not one or two so in the same way, we must pray and worship the Lord for seven days a week—thatโ€™s every day! Likewise, since we eat physical food every day, we must also eat spiritual food every day because we are spirit-man.

I wanted to talk with this significant event. It was when I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to sing and pray in the spirit inside the comfort room. It took two hours. At the near end of it, I was prompted to prostrate on the floor. At first, I was reluctant thinking the floor is not clean but when I saw a vision of myself doing the thing I was asked to do, I was compelled. My mind panicked. I was afraid to disobey the Holy Spiritโ€™s prompting. So instead, I took a plastic stool and prostrate myself with my head on top of it. At that time, I was so afraid. I might grieve the Holy Spirit if I disobey. After that, I wailed for the reason I donโ€™t know. Itโ€™s a continuous one and suddenly stopped; I felt relieve.

The following day, I was playing CD with devotional songs. While I was singing and praying both in the flesh and in the spirit, the Holy Spirit touched me; I cried and wailed for no reason. My mom then told me that I could have had closed the door or enter into my room so the neighborhood would not mind out from their curiosity since there were two cab driver who curiously stood at the gate. So I responded, โ€œI was not able to stop the thing that was happening to me. I canโ€™t help it.โ€I was thinking of the incident that happened inside the comfort room. If youโ€™re prompted by the Holy Spirit to worship this and that way, you could no longer think of finding a comfortable place or else you would lose the privilege, opportunity and even the blessing.

My mom then insisted, โ€œBut they are unbelievers. They could not understand.โ€ I knew that my mom was so mindful of the neighborhood. She wished I could have had enter into my room or locked the door in the living room so they could not hear me crying and singing. Honestly, many of us had never enter into the realm ofย worshipingย the Lord in the beauty of holiness because we are so conscious of the time, our surrounding, the people around us, what they say, what we looked like when we lose our poise if we cried out all our emotions during a worship service inside the church and the chores like babysitting, cooking, mountains of laundry, homework that keeps spinning in our head that awaits to be done. The heart of worship is total surrender.

Isaiah 30: 16,18 says, โ€œThis is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: โ€˜In repentance and REST is your salvation, in QUIETNESS and trust is your strength, but you would have none it. Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who WAIT for Him.โ€

REST means SURRENDER; In QUIETNESS means WAITING ON GOD.

Colossians 4: 5 says, โ€œMake the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them.โ€ (Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.)

Being wise in acting toward outsiders does not mean keeping in secret your way of worshipping as a believer of Christ if youโ€™re just worrying of being their stumbling block. After all, worshipping the Lord does not limit to the physical act of singing, prostrating yourself, lifting up your hands to heaven, etc. but on how you live your life as a Christian, a believer of Christ.

PRAYER:Matthew 10: 28, 32, 33, 38, 39 say, โ€œDo not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will also disown him before my Father in heaven. And anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.โ€

Science of Tongues

ย

speaker: Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj
Glossa is a Greek word for tongues which means a language, a different foreign tongue. Speaking in tongue is praying in a different foreign language.

In the last days, heavenly and earthy realms will become one.

2 Corinthians 12:3- 4 says, โ€œAnd I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows—was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell.โ€

Genesis 11:1, 9 says, โ€œNow the whole world had one language and a common speechโ€ฆThat is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.โ€

Mark 16:17 -19 says, โ€œAnd these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he has taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.โ€

Acts 1:8; 2:4 says, โ€œBut you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earthโ€ฆ All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.โ€

The ultimate purpose of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is to make you sons and daughters of God.

Romans 8: 14, 15 say, โ€œBecause those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship (adoption), and by him we cry, โ€œAbba, Father.โ€

Why is it so important to speak in tongue? Becauseโ€ฆ

  1. Itโ€™s like an umbilical cord that connects us to heaven, to God.

Proverbs 1:23 says, โ€œIf you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.โ€

Isaiah 44:3 says, โ€œFor I will pour water to the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.โ€

Genesis 2:8 says, โ€œNow the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.โ€

Revelation 22:1 says, โ€œThen the angel showed me the river of water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb.โ€

John 7:37-39 says, โ€œOn the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, โ€˜If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within. By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.โ€

1 Corinthians 2:12 -13 says, โ€œWe have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.โ€

  1. Evidence of the indwelling Holy Spirit

Acts 2:4 says, โ€œAll of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.โ€

Acts 19:6 says, โ€œWhen Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and theyspoke in tongues and prophesied.โ€

Acts 10:45 – 46 say, โ€œThe circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even to the Gentiles for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.โ€

READ: Exodus 28:33 โ€“ 35

ย John 14: 16says, โ€œAnd I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.โ€

ย Acts 15: 26says, โ€œWhen the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about it.โ€

  1. Enables us to offer pure worship to God

1 Corinthians 14: 15say, โ€œSo what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.โ€

Acts 10: 46say, โ€œFor they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.โ€

Songs are given in the Spirit without limitation of human language but pure language of the Spirit.

  1. Edifies and builds us upย  – youโ€™ll accelerate in your spiritual growth

1 Corinthians 14:4 says, โ€œHe who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.โ€

At least you pray in the spirit for 3 hours a day.

  1. It refreshes you โ€“ Isaiah 28:11, 12 says, โ€œVery well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to His people, to whom He said, โ€˜This is the resting place, let the weary restโ€™; and , โ€˜This is the place of reposeโ€™ —but they would not listen.โ€
  2. Grows your faith โ€“ Jude 1:20 say, โ€œBut you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.โ€
  3. Enables you to talk with God directly

Amos 3:8 says, โ€œThe lion has roared—who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken—who can but prophesy?โ€ If you dream of a lion, will you rebuke it? Lion symbolizes God but it could also symbolize the enemy, the devil.

  1. Increase Spiritual Sensitivity to the Spirit of God and spiritual realm.

1 Corinthians 2:9 -11 say, โ€œHowever as is it written: โ€˜No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.โ€

When you speak in tongue, two things happen simultaneously. Your spirit-man reaches deep into you and searches all things insides you and mix the real innermost in your life known to God.Your Spirit man really know what you really needs in your life, not what you want.

ย

  1. Enables you to know the will of God

Romans 8: 27 says, โ€œAnd He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with Godโ€™s will.โ€

We thought we know how to pray but we really donโ€™t know how to prayโ€ฆso ask the Holy Spirit to help you and you pray together.

2 Chronicles 20:20 says, โ€œEarly in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, โ€˜Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.โ€

ย

Genesis 28: 12, 13 says, โ€œHe had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the Lord and said, โ€˜I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.โ€

The Holy Spirit is the coordinator

Matthew 3: 16says, โ€œAs soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.โ€

Luke 3: 22says, โ€œand the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove.โ€

Acts 1: 2 says, โ€œuntil the day He was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.โ€

6 Levels of praying in unknown tongues:ย  3 of them are earthly and 3 of them are heavenly

  1. Stammering tongues

Isaiah 32:4 says, โ€œThe mind of the rash will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear.โ€

  1. Pure language โ€“ the stammering tongue become a pure language

Matthew 5: 48say, โ€œBe perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.โ€

โ€œAfter speaking in tongues continuously for seven hours while fasting for seven days, the Lord appeared to me. With Him He gave me a preaching and drawing revelation knowledge.โ€ (Sadhu)

ย

  1. Groaning in the Spirit โ€“ Romans 8: 26says, โ€œIn the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.โ€

The Holy Spirit and you becomes partner. It is a pure and high level of intercession.

  1. Tongues of angels

1 Corinthians 13:1 says, โ€œIf I speak in tongues of men and of angelsโ€ฆโ€

READ: Zechariah 2:1 โ€“ 4; Ezekiel 10:2; Daniel 10:6;12: 5 -7

Have you experience speaking in different language and then suddenly change to another foreign language like youโ€™ve spoken many languages at a time? What is that? Itโ€™s a tongue of angels. Youโ€™ll know that they come and stand with you if it happened.

Angels have their own languages. The shortcut to have the presence of angels with you is to build a life of prayer. Angels love a prayerful person like Daniel. He prays day and night to the Most High God.

ย

Daniel 10:11 says, โ€œHe (the angel) said, โ€˜Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.โ€™ And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.โ€

ย

  1. Languages spoken in heaven

2 Corinthians 12:4 says, โ€œ—was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell.โ€

Revelation 10:3 says, โ€œ…and he gave a loud shout like the roar of the lion.โ€

ย

Revelation 4:1,8say, โ€œAfter this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, โ€˜Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this. . . each of the living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: โ€œHoly, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is to come.โ€

ย

Revelation 5:13 says, โ€œThen I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: โ€˜To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!โ€™โ€

ย

Revelation 6:6 says, โ€œThen I heard what sounded like voice among the four living creatures, saying, โ€˜A quart of wheat for a dayโ€™s wages, and three quarts of barley for a dayโ€™s wages and do not damage the oil and the lamp.โ€

ย

No two peopleโ€™s language is the same in heaven. There are so many languages in heaven.

ย

  1. The language that God himself speak in heaven

Itโ€™s a totally different language from others.

ย

Isaiah 28:11 says, โ€œVery well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to His people.โ€

ย

Daniel 5:5-28 says, โ€œSuddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote. His face turned pale and he was so frightened that his knees knocked together and his legs gave way. The king called out for the enchanters, astrologers and diviners to be brought and said to these wise men of Babylon, โ€˜Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom. Then all the kingโ€™s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant. So king Belshazzar became even more terrified and his face grew more pale. His nobles were baffled.

The queen, hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. โ€˜O king, live forever!,โ€™ she said. โ€˜Donโ€™t be alarmed! Donโ€™t look so pale! There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. King Nebuchadnezzar your father—your father the king, I say —appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners. This man Daniel whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.โ€™

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  So Daniel was brought before the king, and the king said to him, โ€˜Are you Daniel, one of the exiles of my father the king brought from Judah? I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you and that you have insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom. The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they could not explain it. Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.โ€™

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Then Daniel answered the king, โ€˜You may keep your gifts for yourself and give your rewards to someone else. Nevertheless, I will read the writing for the king and tell him what it means. O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor. Because of the high position he gave him, all the peoples and nations and men of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humbled, he humbled. But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory. He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like cattle; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and sets over them anyone he wishes. But you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praise the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways. Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  This is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  This is what these words mean: MENE: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  TEKEL: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  PERES (the singular of PARSIN): Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.โ€

ย

When you see a vision or have a dream, donโ€™t just use your mind to interpret but ask God and pray. Ask God for an interpretation like what Daniel did as he said, โ€œGod had spoken in His own language.โ€

ย

These are the 6 levels of tongue in the earthly realm and the heavenly realm. Then heaven and earth will become one.

ย

Why is it so important for you to build a life of praying in the spirit?

Itโ€™s because when the final outpouring is poured out to the church, the earth is going to experience a great flurry of angelic activity. Weโ€™ll walk together with clouds of witnesses. Itโ€™ll be common for us to talk with angels. In addition, angels are in the Kingโ€™s seat. If you are in the Kingโ€™s seat, you must then speak their (angels) language.

ย

Daniel 1:4 says, โ€œyoung men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the kingโ€™s palace. He was to teach them the language and the literature of the Babylonians.โ€

ย

Finally, the very reason why we must speak in tongues is for us to โ€œWalk with Godโ€ like how Enoch, Abraham and Moses walk with God.

Micah 3:8 says, โ€œBut as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.โ€

Without the Holy Spirit, no one can prophesy. (READ: Micah 3:1-12)

ย

You are protected from the enemy by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:13-17 says, โ€œFor if you live according to your human nature, you are going to die; but if by theSpirit you put to death your sinful actions, you will live. Those who are led by Godโ€™s Spirit are Godโ€™s children. For the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead the Spiritmakes you Godโ€™s children, and by the Spiritโ€™s power we cry out to God, โ€˜Father! My Father!โ€™Godโ€™s Spirit joins (commune) himself to our spirits to declare that we are Godโ€™s children. Since we are His children, we will possess the blessings He keeps for His people, and we will also possess with Christ what God has kept for Him; for if we share Christโ€™s suffering, we will also share His glory.โ€

ย

No angels fully know God, only you and me because of the Holy Spirit.

โ€œKoinoniaโ€ which is a Greek word for โ€œcommunionโ€ has 7 meanings:

1. presence

2. fellowship

3. sharing together

4. participation with

5. intimacy

6. friendship
