Bible Essay: The Prophets

Studying the Way

To the average Bible reader, reading the prophetic books can become a challenging task. Many find it difficult to comprehend them because of an inaccurate understanding of the word “prophecy”, an inadequate awareness regarding the purpose of the prophets, and a large disconnect created by the historical distance of ancient Israel. The prophetic books require a degree of previous knowledge to fully appreciate what God has protected.

The very word “prophecy” can be a hurdle for contemporary readers of the Bible. We often think of prophecies as being events that will unfold in the future, and then assume they are future still. However, most of the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled in Israel’s past, and many within a short period of time of their expression. We must not lose sight of God’s message to the people of that day, or try to create a new meaning in our own lives.

Terrible judgments over the Philippines if the Nation does not repent and turn to God

Image

(I received the hardcopy, summarized of this prophesy of Sadu Sundar about the Philippines from our Pastor yesterday after I told him some of my dreams before the earthquake and super typhoons hit our country. He amusingly said that what I dreamed are closely the same with Sadu’s. I wish I could published the remaining copies of it one of these days here.)

This is  a prophetic message of prophet Sadhu Sundar on April 12, 2013 at Cuneta Astrodome

1. There is a place called Mindanao, and below that strait is a place called Compostela. The Lord said that there is an appointed typhoon to come upon that area. It will surround the place called Tagum. Then the foundations will be shaken; many people will die. It will be a big lesson and a fear to the rest of the world. A huge number of people will be scattered. You may have to depend on the nations of the world to help you.

2. The Lord has kept in reserve for a mighty typhoon to rise up against 6 islands.

3. God’s anger will come upon the islands of SAMAR and LEYTE. A huge typhoon is planned to come over there. There will be disasters through flood. The Lord showed me a place called PALAWAN; a great flood and a great typhoon will come upon Palawan. Many people will die there. A great grievous death is coming to Palawan.

4. There are hundreds of places waiting to be flooded in the Philippines. There are the smells of waters in many places in your land. The Lord says death is coming by waters.

5. Grievous death is going to come to Mindanao.

The Lord is going to pour His bowl of wrath upon these places.

= There is a smell of waters in many places in your land. Many people will be drowned. Maybe you have faced many times such dangers, but these coming dangers will be great in my eyes of the world.

= Hundreds and thousands of people will be scattered.

= Many houses will be ravaged.

= Many people will be refugees in their own land.

= A very pitiful state will come upon you when you will have to depend on other people to help you.

= Children will die of hunger, pain and of waters. Many children’s bodies will be thrown in the streets.

= Many areas will become muddy and swampy.

= Many great dangers will surround your nation.

= The Lord says your rivers will come upon the land.

=The Lord says there is a place called Pangasinan. The Lord says it is in the northernmost part in your land. From there a grievous disease will spread all over the world. That will consume the flesh of men; all their upper (outer) skin will begin to decay. It will pierce through the bones. The fear of this disease will spread all over the world. The Lord said that this disease will begin from the Philippines.

= This then will spread to CEBU. Another new disease will spring forth from Cebu. Image

= The Lord said another disease will come from BOHOL. It will be a challenge to your nation. This disease will spread very widely so that every people will fear. It will spread all over the land, and then it will spread into many nations of the world. When this disease strikes a man, it will cause a man’s body to turn black. Many old people’s bodies will burst. Their bodies will decay and rot. People will be afraid to bury such people. The Lord said that such plaques will come to surround your land.

= There’s going to come mighty floods in Luzon and Cebu. It will come as the result of the winds and the waters. All these dangers will come that history has never seen before.

= All your irrigatable lands will be destroyed. At that time you’ll stretch forth for begging hands for food from other nations. Your children are going to die of famine and hunger.

= 70 islands of your nation are waiting to disappear under water. The waters will rise up against them. The shouts and the cries of the people will be terrible.

= The waters around the coastal cities will pass the coastal cities and enter into the land. Many people will lose their property; many people will fade away in sunlight and land.

= Earthquake will land in your land.

= Volcanoes will erupt in many places.

= There will be cries and troubles in the land. These are all the grievous dangers that God has against your land.

= Your young people will walk on the streets in your land. They will kill many people in broad daylight and throw their bodies in the streets.

= There will be even come a dangerous time when people will kill each other for food.

= The Lord says many buildings will catch fire. God set many buildings with fire and shakenings.

= God will cause dangers to come through lightning and thunders.

These are all the dangers, disasters that God has planned for this nation.

God’s planned blessings for the Philippines

The blessings that God has for your nation are glorious and wonderful.

= He is going to raise up a Prophetic Generation. Your young people will up as prophets; your churches will become prophetic churches; your children will prophesy.

= Your ministers will become renowned ministers and will do renowned works around the world.

= The Lord will sanctify the foundations’ of your churches.

= He will fill your land with good things.

= God will rise up mighty men who will demonstrate the power of God.

= A prophetic Anointing will cover the whole land.

= The last day’s evangelistic message will go all over the world through you.

= The last day’s angels will manifest themselves continually to you, ascending and descending in this nation.

= God’s counsels will continually come upon this land.

= God will continually meet His people.

= There will be signs that will appear in the skies above this nation.

= The Lord will tangibly speak to this nation. Even during your church services she will tangibly and audibly hear the Voice of God.

= God will show you changes in the natural order.

= God will speak to you through signs in the heavens.

= A huge group of people will tangibly see angels coming down in heavens.

= God will bring, command a Revival upon children. Whenever the children gather, God will suddenly manifest His power. Many children will be taken in the Spirit to heaven and see glorious things.

= A mighty Revival will come upon your nation, and it will be a sign to their nations.

These are all the spiritual blessings that God is going to give you.

And He has kept many PHYSICAL BLESSINGS for you.

= God will prevent the many natural disasters that come upon your land. God will establish the foundation of your nation. God will give command to the winds and the seas and bind them. He will look at the waves that come roaring and say, “Thus far you can come, but not further.” He will establish all the land’s foundations.

= God will enlarge your irrigation. God will increase your harvest.

= God will lift up your economy.

= All the hidden treasures that are under your feet that you do not know yet, God will bring them to the forefront.

= Many people will develop industries and companies in this land. Many wealthy industrialists will come to the Philippines and will begin to open up new industries.

= You will give work to many people from abroad.

= God will increase the economic situation of the country.

These are all the physical blessings that God has kept in store for you.

And He has promised us a third blessing:  The work of your hands.

                = Everything of the work of your hands will be prosperous. There is a word in the word of God that talks about Isaac. There was famine all around Him. There was no rain, and the land dried up. Every irrigatable land became dried. But in the midst of famine, Isaac sowed. God blessed his seed. In that year he reaped a hundred-fold harvest. How is it possible? How could it be done? There was no rain, the rivers were not flowing, and even all the land has been dried up. In what faith he sowed in the land? How did the seeds grow? That is the seed of the people of God. We do not trust the rains and sow. We do not sow just on dry land. We believe on God who gives the harvest. Therefore we shall receive a hundred-fold harvest. We don’t need the rain. We don’t need a good irrigatable land. We just need a God who blesses us. God will bless the works of your hands. Whatever you sow will be prosperous. God will not cause any dryness to come to the works of your hands.

                = Many investors will rise up from your land. God will use your wisdom and intelligence. These are all the good thoughts that God has for your land. God says that whenever you obey Him, you will inherit all these blessings. God is a God who is not a respecter of persons over this land.

To God be the glory!

I Am Thankful (Wisdom and Strength)

In everything, give thanks.

THE RIVER WALK

Read: Daniel 1:1-2:23, 1 Peter 3:8-4:6, Psalm 119:65-80, Proverbs 28:14

Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power… I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength.
(Daniel 2:20, 23)

sickchild

Relate: In his message yesterday, Pastor Will talked about how he had been sick most of this past week. I know it, I saw him Friday night and he looked like death warmed over. I rode home from church with another guy who was fighting a cough. We stopped for lunch at Price Chopper where he was also planning to pick up some Sudafed for his wife. Before going there we dropped off at her apartment another young lady whose husband wasn’t at church today. He stayed home because he was too sick to crawl out of bed.

My brother was in the hospital up in Syracuse all…

Trust (11/22/13)

THE RIVER WALK

Read: Ezekiel 44:1-45:12. 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalm 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9)

Aladdin

Relate: “You’re right. You aren’t just some prize to be one. You should be free to make your own choice.” That is Aladdin’s response when Jasmine tells, “Just go jump off a balcony.” After responding with that he does, literally, jump off a balcony. That is when Jasmine first sees the potential for something miraculous. He doesn’t just jump off, the magic carpet catches him. After reappearing just above the balcony Aladdin offers her a ride. When she shows a bit of hesitation he holds out his hand and asks, “Do you trust me?”

At that moment…

Broken Dreams, On a Friend’s Suicide

My heart is bleeding while reading this. I also attempted suicide upon my parents’ broken relationship and/or to say our broken family in 2005. But when God reminded me again and again of His unfailing love , I promised to myself not to give way or give the serpent a chance. Satan don’t have the right to bring us into the pit of hell. He can’t and God won’t let it. Only if we would be faithful on seeking God’s face, guidance and control in our lives through his begotten son Jesus Christ we’ll find that confidence.

This is a timely post. I just re-read the whole book of Job at noon today. I heard that story since childhood over and over again from Sunday Schools, Bible studies and even in the pastor’s sermon but I couldn’t be tired reading it again and again. I learned that God didn’t ruin Job’s life, He only let the serpent test how faithful Job to him was. Same goes to us when we think God is not listening to our prayers and had abandoned us when trials come. He only test our faith on Him.

Broken Believers

This is a guest post from TheNorEaster, hope it blesses!

A TheNorEaster Post.

An old buddy of mine from high school recently committed suicide.

I cried myself to sleep the night I got the news, praying passionately and begging God to have mercy upon him.

John was the last person I would ever expect to take his own life. He always was quick with a joke, and his laughter was contagious.

When I got the news, I was fortunate enough to be with my best friend, who eventually asked, “How many is that?”

“Exposures?”

“And the people you were especially close to.”

“Mike shot himself, Ken’s two neighbors had some kind of ritual, Adrian stabbed his social worker to death to get shot by a cop, Judy’s killer hung herself in prison after beating her to death with a sledgehammer, Neal’s father-in-law shot himself, I don’t know how Kim did…

What’s Going On?

set your paths straight

933039_storm_brewingToday I was reading the news and came across this article.  I was pretty shocked.  Now I am not a Doomsday Prepper, nor do I pretend to know the hour or the day that our Lord will return for His Church.  I actually would prefer to put my faith and hope in the scripture that calls for our nation to turn and repent and the Lord will heal us…however, this very disturbing news story really caught my attention. Is a storm brewing in this country – in this world, from which we cannot return?

Tell me, What are your thoughts?  Please comment (see top right side of post).

2 Timothy 3:1-17

3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of…

God’s Complete Knowledge and Care

God's Complete Knowledge and Care

Psalms 139: 1-24 says,
“Lord, you have examined me and know me.
You know everything I do; from far away you understand all my thoughts.
You see me whether I am working or resting; you know all my actions.
Even before I speak, you already know what I will say.
You are all around me on every side; you protect me with your power.
Your knowledge of me is too deep; it is beyond my understanding.

Where could I go to escape from you?
Where could I get away from your presence?
If I went up to heaven, you would be there;
If I lay down in the world of the dead, you would be there.
If I flew away beyond the east or lived in the farthest place in the west, you would be there to lead me, you would be there to help me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me or the light around me to turn into night, but even darkness is not for you, and the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.

You created every part of me;
you put me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because you are to be feared;
all you do is strange and wonderful.
I know it with all my heart.
When my bones were being formed, carefully put together in my mother’s womb,
when I was growing there in the secret,
you knew that I was there–
you saw me before I was born.
The days allotted to me had all been recorded in your book, before any of them ever began.
O, God, how difficult I find your thoughts;
how many of them there are!
If I counted them, they would be more than grains of sand.
When I awake, I am still with you.

O God, how I wish you would kill the wicked!
How I wish violent people would leave me alone!
They say wicked things about you;
they speak evil things about you;
they speak evil things against your name.
O Lord, how I hate those who hate you!
How I despise those who rebel against you!
I hate them with a total hatred;
I regard them as enemies.

Examine me, O God, and know my mind;
test me, and discover my thoughts.
Find out if there is any evil in me and guide me in the everlasting way.

Thoughts on spiritual disciplines

Sometimes I feel guilty if I can’t attend the church Sunday service, give my tithes week after, or unable to share and fellowship with unbelievers and fellow Christians alike because I believe this is our duty as Christ-follower, but reading this reminds me that Jesus first loves us; we must abide all what we think our obligations as Christians with LOVE then everything (if you think your duties as Christian are heavy loads) will be as light as a feather easy to carry.

In My Father's House

DisciplineWhy do most of us seem to have a problem with spiritual disciplines? Well…let me ask you, what comes to your mind when you think of spiritual disciplines?

Most sincere believers will affirm that it’s a good idea, but honest thoughts will go something like, “Yeah, you’re right…I need to do more…read my Bible more…pray more…more quiet time…fast more…and so forth. Or, if you’re one who currently consistently practices them, pride may rise up a little and you may be tempted to say, “Amen! That’s right!…You all need to be more disciplined in your walk with the Lord! (like me).
