Bride’s walk

Genesis 24:64 “Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down from her camel.”

Amos 3:3 “Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”

There must be an agreement between the bride and the bridegroom whereby there is unity and a covenant of joining together.

Matthew 21:1-5 “As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! See your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Revelation 19:8 “Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

1 John 4:17 “In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the Day of Judgment, because in this world we are like Him.”

1 Timothy 6:16 “Who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To Him be honor and might forever. Amen.”

Hebrews 12:29 “…for our ‘God is a consuming fire.”

Psalms 29 “Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in His temple all cry, ‘Glory!’ The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.”

God is a pure light, consuming fire, great commanding authoritative voice.

1 Timothy 3:16 “Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.”

Hebrews 2:9 “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.”

Habakkuk 1:13 “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?”

Revelation 4 & 5

Philippians 2:6-8 “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!”

1. To walk in humility (lowliness and meekness)

One of the greatest lie of devil is this: “No matter how filthy you live but by just confessing the name of the Lord Jesus, you can enter the kingdom of heaven. Why? Because God knows that is your weakness, you’re bond with it”, Satan will say.

Leviticus 18 says that homosexual/gay lifestyle is an abomination in the sight of God. But in other countries people would say, “That is not wrong, it is an alternative lifestyle because God made you like that,” they’d say.

Have you ever seen a gay dog or a lesbian monkey or a homosexual donkey? Nowhere in natural creation will you find gay/homosexuality because all those animals have common sense. They don’t need 6th sense like us. Just a simple common sense that a male can’t mate with a male, common sense. Every creation knows that male can’t mate with a male and a female with another female. The animals know this very well. Look at the plant life; even they know this very well. The creation knows this very well except men who believe in alternative lifestyle. And there are gay pastors, gay bishops, and gay churches. I tell you in all humility that you will never ever find a gay Hindu temple, a gay Buddhist monastery nor gay Muslim mosque. If you claim that they are wrong, why is it that their lifestyles are godlier than yours? Why is it that they know that this is abomination? And why is that we don’t know? Simply because we are under a great delusion. Why is it that the people whom we labeled as heathens can live a godly life or holy life and we who claim who follow the One and true living God lives such a filthy unclean lifestyle?

2. Seeking not to be known – sign of humility.

In Buddhism, there is a teaching called Nirvana which means you take out all the senses and the desires within you until the very desire itself is extinguished. When that person reached that stage that person reaches union in Nirvana and enlightenment opens up. When that person dies, his soul become part of the cosmic universe and becomes nothing. Which means a person struggles so hard in this world to become nothing!

Christians struggle so hard to become well known whilst the Buddhist brothers seek to become nothing. What is the principle? Working very hard to be not known. The self is extinguished. This is humility.

The day you conquered the I-self, me-self and my-self is the day you become a true Christian because that is the nature of your bridegroom. Lowliness means “humiliation and low state” in Greek while meekness means “consist not in a person’s outward behavior only nor yet in his relations to his fellowmen, rather it is an inward grace of the soul. It is the caution of the spirit in which we accept God’s dealings with us for good without murmuring, disputing or resisting; to put this in one word it means gentleness.

1 Peter 3:4 “Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Proverbs 16:5 “The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: they will not go unpunished.”

Pride is the greatest of all sins.

Ezekiel 28:2 “Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “In the pride of your heart you say, ‘I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.’ But you are a man not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.”

Obadiah 1:3 “The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’”

Jeremiah 49:16 “The terror you inspire and the pride of your heart have deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks, who occupy the heights of the hill. Though you build your nest as high as the eagle’s, from there I will bring you down,’ declares the Lord.” This tells us that pride deceives your heart because it creates false humility. Outwardly it may give you an impression that you are humble but inwardly it is inflated with pride. You may not know it unless and until the all seeing eyes of God illumines it.

How to recognize that you have pride?

If you ever feel offended or hurt, it means pride. If not as big as a giant at least as small as an ant. But even ants run everywhere enough to destroy you. Why do we feel offended? Because we are conscious of our reputation. That is why when Jesus walk on this earth He said, He counted not His reputation. If you want to be clothed with humility, take down that stupid and good for nothing reputation of yours and put it on the floor. It can’t save you and you can’t even bring your name up to heaven. It will remain in this earth on the tombstone. Not even all the wealth in this earth.

If while you’re alive you have the opportunity to do good and when you refuse to do good, when you die what good is all dead if your coffin with all your money be buried? What’s the use? You can’t take it to the underworld. It will become illegal counterfeit money. You will need money printed in hell.

Tonight, if we can just be absolutely sincere and honest, you’ll just bow down and look into this heart of yours, you can see there’s a lot of pride.

Pride is the root cause to strife, contentions, divisions, murmurings, backbiting, and self-dependent attitudes.

Why do you want to talk about somebody else? Because of your pride. There is pride inside us. We want to gossip, we want to backbite, we want to create strife. This is a very serious disease in the bride’s life.

If you go around having an air of attitude that your pastor doesn’t recognize your talents or your church leadership doesn’t recognize your potentials. What is that attitude? RECOGNITION! Recognition is an outward manifestation of inward pride.

When you are truly clothed with humility, you don’t even realize that you exist because that “I” is no more there. The self is extinguished. One time, a prophet friend of mine share his spiritual visitation in heaven with two ministering spirits in heaven telling him that pride in the eyes of God is the greatest of all sins. Even God can forgive adultery. Let’s suppose you commit adultery hundred times and you turn to God, He can still forgive you…but don’t take this as a license to commit adultery because if you knowingly do that you’ll end up in the flames of heal. Even if a person does that God will still be merciful with kindness to overlook that because of the weakness of human flesh. But one thing that God can’t tolerate is pride.

Isaiah 57:15 God dwells with the humble people with lowly, meek and with contrite heart.

Matthew 18:4 “Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Sin no more. Live a holy life. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Matthew 23:12 “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

Micah 6:8 “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Every pride that you overcome in your life increases the presence of God in your life.

Why was the Lord Jesus Christ able to be filled with the Holy Spirit beyond measure? Because the Lord Jesus Christ was totally dead to “I”.

The very fact that He came to this earth qualify Him to receive the Spirit without measure because He put on humiliation.

John 3:34 “For the one that God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.”

The bride of Jesus Christ must walk in humility like the bridegroom. If two can’t agree together how can they walk? If you claim to be the bride whose waiting for the rapture of the church with great love, I warn you tonight except you become converted and humble yourself as a little child, you will never enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Secrets of the stairs

Songs of Solomon 2:14 “My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.”

If we delight in God, He delights in us.

Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Esther 5:1-3 “On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance. When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter. Then the king asked, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given you.”

When you delight yourself in the Lord, He will take great delight in you. At that moment your heart is purified, your minds are purified, all the selfish passions, desires once are all purified by fire of the living God. What will emerge from your heart will be a sweet cedar living sacrifice. And when the King looks at the sacrifice, before you open your mouth to ask, He will grant your desires. When you delight yourself in the Lord, all your selfishness die and only the purity rises up before the Lord. When God looks, He sees a pure heart, refined, transformed, purified like fire and He will grant all your partitions. He’ll ask, “What do you want? Whatever you ask, I will give it to you.” It will no longer be a selfish desire, a selfish request but a pure one.

And when you’re delighting in the Lord, Solomon 1:2 “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—for your love is more delightful than wine.”

Kisses of his mouth” means an intimate fellowship between bride and bridegroom, an expression of intimacy.

When you come and sit at His feet, why do we always rush through of a formula of quiet time?

I will tell you one truth, one of the greatest evil that we have in the Christian world today is devotional books. They are not evil by itself but they can become evil. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll justify my statement. If you take a devotional book and you read the day’s reading and you close your book and you said “Amen” and you got up and walk away, that book is an evil to you because you had made that book your God (idolatry). That book has replaced the bible. That devotional book has become your god. I use devotional books in my quiet time just to stir up my mind because they are very good. I like the Daily Bread, don’t you? I often use that. They put nice little stories that I use in my messages. But you see they also have Scriptural reading for the day that meditates the bible. You must fit the Word. Devotional books are good as they are that should write our appetite for the real meat that is in the Living Word. Don’t let them become your God.

So what do we do in our Christian life?

Throw away your watches, unplug the telephone, they are two greatest evils to the Christian life. Cp, mobiles, throw them away in the insanitary test. They are all evils that come between you and your bridegroom. They are little foxes that spoil the whines.

Song of Solomon 5:2 I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My lover is knocking; ‘Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”

When you sit in the presence of the Lord speak love to Him through songs of praise and worship, express all your love to Him and He will sit beside you and will throw kisses upon your face.

One gentle kiss from Him will wipe away your tears, will heal and bind your broken heart and console your weeping heart.

So what is the secret? Run to his feet. Don’t run to your fellow brothers and sisters asking them to pat you on your shoulder and encourage you in your self pity. Don’t do that. Why are we doing that? You know, that’s what we actually do. We want people to encourage us in our self-pity. I tell you, self pity is a sin. It is a sin in the eyes of God. Don’t wallow in self-pity. But if you bring your broken heart to the Lord Jesus and just forget about your broken hearts and just love Him, the very next moment, He will be right there beside you, put His arms around you with His left arm around you and His right hand holding your face, looking gently at you. He will just say, “Why are you weeping? I’m here with you.” And He’ll take your broken heart in His hands and just bind it and make it one whole and give it back to you. This is what Jesus is willing to do for you if you delight in Him.

How does a bridegroom call His brides? How does He call you?

He calls you “My dove.”

What is so special about doves?

1. Doves are pure, undefiled and harmless.

Matthew 10:16 “Be harmless as doves.”

In Biology, there is an organ in our body that defiles all our internal organs. It makes our internal organ unclean. Only the dove doesn’t have this organ. In all of God’s creations, only the dove doesn’t have that organ that defiles all the other internal organs. As a result the dove is pure within, that’s why it is chosen as a symbol for the Holy Spirit. Now you know why the Holy Spirit is called as “He comes like a dove.” There is absolutely no impurity inside a dove. She’s not only white in the outside, but also in the inside.

So who are you? He calls you “a dove.” Your bride, Jesus calls you “My dove.” If you are a dove, number one qualification of a bride, she must be pure, undefiled and harmless. Harmless means the absence of any evil intentions against one another in one’s heart and thoughts. Those are not words of love but of revenge.

2. Secondly, the dove is faithful and truthful to one’s spouse.

This is a very interesting character about a dove. When a dove finds a mate, both of them will remain absolutely true and faithful to one another. In them is this marriage covenant fulfill, “Till death do we part.” When one spouse dies, the other one will not find another spouse but will remain faithful and truthful and just mourn and mourn for the lost loved ones until he or she also dies.

Isaiah 59:11 Talks about the mourning of a dove. “…We moan mournfully like doves.”

3. She is single-minded in her walk in life.

When the dove set her eyes on her spouse, she will not look on another person. She will remain devoted and sees nothing else. How do we bring this to into the Christian life?

Psalms 27:4 “One thing I asked of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.”

Now look at the first part, “One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after.” not two or three things but one. This scripture contains all the blessings, gifts and mysteries of God. One thing have I desired, I desired that and I will seek after that until I get it. No turning left, no turning right. Like the doves, single-minded devotion!

We don’t get what we’re seeking for because we give up halfway, we get tired of waiting. Do you know God is the master of waiting? We must practice waiting. Many Christians have good intentions as you have fail because you don’t seek and pursue after, you just fall short of reaching the end.

He that endures till the end, only he will be saved.” <Matt 24: 13>

If you desire the house of God, if you desire the beauty of God, seek, don’t stop until you find. Seek and you shall surely find, knock and the door shall surely be opened. This is the command from the Lord Jesus. Why is the door not been opened because we’re not knocking enough. You must kept on knocking and knocking until the inhabitants get sick and tired of you and they must come to open the door.

In a parable in Luke 18, Jesus talks about a travelling widow. He said, there was this widow who makes an application to the judge. He couldn’t care about the application so she decided to keep on knocking and knocking and knocking. Do you know, the woman have this gift. You have been blessed with the gift of nagging. But that’s not the end of the story. The end of the story is this, but you have used that to glorify the devil in your life. Nagging is negative. When you turn nagging around, it becomes intercession. Use your gift to intercede. That is why most intercessors are women. You have the gift inside you. Remember, I told you on the first day, you don’t know who you are, what is the inherent power inside you. The devil knows. So he made you use the powerful gift that you have negatively for destruction. Instead of moving the throne of God, you’re moving your husband, you’re children, and you’re driving everybody nuts.

In the early days of Dr. Billy Grahams’ ministry, he was just beginning to get popular. This was in the 50s. One day, he went to a town in the US and he had a week of revival there. The entire city was born again. All the borders closed, liquor shops closed, all movie theaters were closed, and they all got saved. Everybody in that town was in the stadium everyday for seven days and all the policemen had no job to do. So after the crusade, reverend Graham went back to his hometown and knelt down to give thanks to God. He said, “Lord, thank you for giving me a huge harvest today in those meetings.” As he was praying, the Lord spoke to him, He said, “My son, all the harvest I’m not putting it to your account, I’m putting it on the account of a poor widow in that town.” Billy Graham was very shocked, “What do you mean Lord?” The Lord told him, “For three years, this widow was praying to me, ‘Lord please send Billy Graham to our town.’ For three years, day and night she prayed without sleeping. She interceded for her town for three years. The Lord told him, “It was her intercessions that saved this town not you. You just came in with a sickle to reap the harvest but she’s responsible for everything.” Nobody knew about this old woman, the whole town only saw Billy Graham publicly but the eyes of the Lord saw her. This is the great weapon that you have inside you. So don’t use your gift for the devil, use it for God and before too long, your husband will be sitting in these meetings.

Seek after, be single minded in your devotion. Don’t give up. ‘One thing have I desired.’ If you sincerely seek the face of God, if you sincerely seek the glory of God, if you sincerely seek the house of God, don’t fall short. Don’t give up until you get it. You must have stubborn faith. Don’t be stubborn in your attitude. See stubbornness that is positive and negative. Use your stubbornness to move God. That is good stubborn. Don’t be stubborn with each other. That is bad stubborn. Many negative qualities inside us can be transformed into good qualities. Be stubborn with sin. Why do we love sin and we are stubborn with holiness? Be stubborn with sin. Why are you disobeying God when you could disobey the devil?! God asked you to do small thing and you’d give Him 1001 excuses. When the devil asked you to do a big thing you’d immediately obey. Why? Obey God, disobey the devil.

One thing have I desired, that I will seek after. I sought Him, who’s my so “beloved”. Do you really love the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart or you think you love or you pretend to love Him? This is a question you sincerely need to ask yourself and look into your heart. If you really love Him then you must seek after Him whom you longs for. Christianity is no longer a religion, it is a relationship.

Now, where is this dove? Jeremiah 48:20

She is found hiding in the clefts of the rock. That is where they make their nests so that it will be kept for security and safety, hidden from danger and since clefts are secret places in the rocks where normally people can’t easily find. Only doves know them. That is their security. Nothing can shake them. Nothing can move them, all safety is guaranteed.

Are you hiding in your secret place? Not the secret place of God but in your own secret place? Does God have access from the clefts in your life? Are you hiding your hearts, your secrets from God? Is there a place in your life where even God has no right to touch? Many people make a cleft in their heart, in their lives and they hide there and they will not even allowed God to touch those areas. Do you have that place in your life? If you are a bride, you can’t remain there anymore. That maybe is your safety; you like to hide there. Whatever may be your backgrounds-good, bad, ugly. Whether you are abused as a child, whether you’re molested as a child, whether you’re deeply hurt by Christian leaders, we tend to hide, build a wall around ourselves and hide there. And you don’t want to trust anybody else in this world and you don’t want to allow anybody to come near you and you create a secret place where you hide underneath where you even have set boundaries for God. A bride can’t be like that. If there is such a place like that in your life, you’ll never be healed, you’ll never be delivered. That vacuums if not treated will be destructive. It will destroy you, and all those who are around you and all those who come and contact with you. Forget the past, unless you are willing to let go the past, God can’t do a new thing in your life. I tell you today, 101 prophets can come and prophesy to you ‘God will do new thing in your life’, but I’ll tell you today from the word of the eternal God, unless and until you let go of the old, no good thing can God do in your life.

Isaiah 43:19 “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Forget the formal things. Forget the old glory. If your church splits and you established a new church, don’t keep on saying ‘Oh in the past, it was like this…like that…’

Forget the past! Behold God does a new thing.

Does not the Scripture say, the glory of the latter house is greater than the former house? So why are you longing for the former house when the latter house is better? If God wants to make the latter half of your life better, then why are you contented to stay in the former half? Why? Why are you holding on to your past? Let it go. If you won’t, the healing love of Jesus Christ can’t flow. Many times, people are not healed because they are hiding secrets in their hearts.

The first night when I came to preach here, that evening as I was waiting on the Lord. The Lord said, “Today, I am going to heal many people, but there are many women who had wound problem, they have sin of unforgiveness in their hearts. Unless they let it go, they can’t be healed.” See, secrets that you hide in your heart, the secret places in your heart that you created in your heart and that you hide there, the healing anointing can’t flow. I have many records in my office how many sick people were not healed because of sin. And then they are healed when the sin is forgiven especially in the areas of bitterness. This was what the Lord Jesus Christ told me one day, “When a woman has sicknesses in the area of her womb, breasts, asthma, the root causes of this are bitterness, anger, unforgiveness.” This was what the Lord Jesus told me, “Whenever people come to you for such sickness, first ask them these three questions, “Unless and until they let go of this three, they can’t be healed.” And ever since Jesus had told me this, I put this to the test. Out of 10 women who come to me for prayer concerning sickness in this area of their body, 9 of them always said one of the three problems. Unforgiveness, anger, bitterness–why keep them when they are destructive? Why do you keep on to them as if they are your teddy bear to hug? They are not good teddy bears. It is strangling your life. They are not as cuddly bears that can cuddle. These kinds of bear are real bear that are tearing your life, your health apart to pieces. So why do you want to hold on to that anger? Whether you are justified to feel angry, bitter or not, that is not the issue, perhaps you are justified, that is not the issue, the issue is it is destroying you so why keep something inside you when it is designed to destroy you? Take it out and throw it outside. Today you’ll be absolutely healed. Whatever anger you have, whatever bitterness or unforgiveness, just let it go.

Is there a place in your life where it’s off limits to God?

If you want to be the bride, you can not dwell in those clefts of the rocks. When you want to be the bride to take the first step forward, yourself must die.

Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

The bridegroom is calling the bride to come.

Songs of Solomon 2:10 “My beloved spoke to me, ‘rise up my love, my fair one and come away.’ (Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me.”

Why is He calling her like that? Because she’s hiding down below in the clefts of the secret places and the bridegroom is standing at the top of the cleft and looking down and said, ‘Oh my dove, rise up, come up, don’t hide there, come up.’ The bridegroom is calling. Come away from the clefts up the stairs to meet your God.

What are stairs? They are ascensions, order of ascension.

If you want to meet God, you know another wrong prayer that we all prayed in our churches is “Lord, touch me.” Have you prayed that prayer? But the bridegroom’s prayer is this, He’ll say, “I have touch you enough, you touch me.” This is the exact words that came from the lips of the Lord Jesus, “I have touched you enough, you now touch me.” You see, He look at the bride and said, “Come up.” but the bride is saying, “You come down.” It doesn’t look like that. You must come up. The bride is saying, “Lord, come down, touch me, bless me, and do me good.” but the bridegroom is saying, “Come up, my dove, come away my fair ward.”

If you want to walk with God in the intimacy of the King’s big chamber, He has a place. You know, you can pray anywhere–in your car, kitchen, in your bed, anywhere you like but there is a secret place of the Most High God. If you want to have an intimate relationship with Him, you must come there not He come to you when you are driving your car. That is different. Don’t mix the food together. That is different. There is a place by God.

Look at Exodus 19:20; 24:12 “The Lord descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses went up. The Lord said to Moses, ‘Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone…”

In this two Scriptures, God wanted to reveal Himself a magnification of His glory to Moses and He told Moses, “Come up the mountain and I will meet with you.” Why didn’t God come down to meet Moses? He doesn’t walk that way. Sorry for the bad news. He doesn’t walk like that. You come up. Why are many people, sincere as they are in their desire to see God? How many of you like to see the Lord? How many of you like to hear the voice of Jesus Christ speaking to you? Sincere as you are, why are you not seeing or hearing Him? It’s because, you have not climbed up, you are sitting down in your comfort and say, “Come down.” It doesn’t work like that. So He’s waiting patiently for you to come to your senses and know that He is the Holy One who inhabits eternity. He is not your slave. Many times when Christians pray I always wonder who is God because when they pray they sound that they are God and God is their slave. They said, “God go and do this, God go and do that.” Who is God? your slave? Do you know who God is? How can we talk to Him like that? Such irreverence…

Do you know that is the reason why I told you earlier, the charismatic church doesn’t have a clue about worshipping God in the beauty of holiness. To her, everything is just easy. You can chew gums and pray, you can chew gums and worship. These are all insults to the holiness of God. Only cows chew, you know. If you don’t believe me, come to India. They are called to chew. That is their calling. If you chew, who are you then? Praise the Lord. Do you know why the eastern churches have an intimate walk with God? Because we reverence God. The western church doesn’t know how to reverence God. She just plays with God. She thinks God is just a next-door neighbor friend like how you say, “Dog, I love you.” that same word she use to Jesus, “Lord I love you.” It doesn’t work but I will tell you one truth, that doesn’t diminish His love for you. He blesses you as far as His grace goes. But the moment you rise up to meet Him in His place, you see His glory. You walk in His glory. You talk in His glory. That is the place. <Exodus 33> Now Moses wanted to see the glory of God and this is what God told Him.

Remember I told you there are some loopholes in the laws of God.

There you will see scripturally, a loophole in Exodus 33:20, “You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” How do you think Moses must have felt when God said this? His face must have suddenly turned like a small little boy looking with great longing into his Father’s face. Do you have children like that? When your children have that kind of a face, can you say no to them? I have 6 nephews. When any one of them come to me with such a face, whatever anger I may have in my heart for them, will just melt like wax. So Moses had such a face and the Lord looked down. His heart was moved with wax. He said, “What can I do?” He created a loophole. Look at verse 21. “There is a place by me and I will put thee in a cleft of the rock…” This scripture is cross- linked to the Songs of Solomon 2:14 “there is a place by God…”

If you want to know God intimately as a bride would know her bridegroom, you must climb up the secret stairs to meet the Lord God where He is.

How to climb up?

1. Praise and worship. When you begin to praise and worship God, all the impurities in your heart are washed away, cleansed. Purification takes place.

2. Meditate the Word of God. When you meditate the Word of God, Ephesians 5:26 says, “God’s word is like water.” John 17:17 says, “His Word sanctifies.” John 15:3 says, “By my Word you were clean.” So when you meditate the Word of God, your mind is cleansed. Not only that, every one of us have one common problem when we pray–our minds wanders around. Have you? Is that your experience? Your mind wanders around the whole world. Suddenly you remember everything under the sun. All the hidden things all come to the surface of your mind and you suddenly remember everything and you forget the Bible.

Now, when you praise, the mind begins to keep quiet. When you meditate the Word, the mind is furthered bind and brought into oneness with God, you don’t just enter into prayer. That is imperfection. See Esther did not immediately come and stand before the king. She fasted for three days; she put on the royal robe then came and stood before the king.

Two stages–praise and worship and meditate the Word of God.

By the time you sincerely praise and worship and meditated the Word, I promise you, your mind will have come in stillness and oneness before the Holy Spirit. Then pray. In that state, when you pray, your heart will never waiver, your mind will never wander. You’ll be in oneness of heart and mind together with the Holy Spirit. This is the real meaning of the Scripture, “Where there are two or three gathered in My name, I’ll be there in their midst.” Not just physically 2 and 3. Two is your spirit and your soul and the third is the Holy Spirit, then you will become one. And the Lord Jesus Christ is there. And your eyes will behold Him and your heart will see Him. Your ears can hear Him.

3. Waiting on God. Most Christians practice the other 2 but this last stage, 99.9% of Christians don’t practice this at all or are ignorant of this. This is the foundation of your walk with God. If you don’t have this foundation, you can’t walk with God. Let me give you one example. In Exodus 24: 12-15, God told Moses to come up to the mountain to talk to Him. When Moses went up the mountain, he waited there for 6 days. Before God’s glory came down, he patiently waited for 6 days. Then on the 7th day, the cloud of glory came down and God spoke to him face to face for 40 days and 40 nights. Suppose you were there in that mount. First day, you waited on God and He didn’t come down. You would have received a ton of e-mails calling you back to office. You would immediately come down the mountain. Thank God Moses did not have a cellular phone. Even if he had, he would have given it to Joshua and say, “You take care about all the calls while I wait on God.” Look at this man; he patiently waited for 6 days hoping the next day God would come. He didn’t even know when God will come.

Do you know what’s the key for a great being great? Why is Enoch in our eyes great? Why is Moses great? Why is Abraham great? Why is Elijah great? What makes them great? Is it their great spirituality? I tell you the secret of that. They are great because they simply obeyed. Simple right? They simply obeyed without any questions. No questions asked. God told Moses, “Come and wait.” Period. There was no other tone in Moses’ mind, he only had told to do one think and he just waited for six days. If God didn’t show up and if He’d only showed up in the 40th day, Moses would still be waiting because the Lord told him to wait. The Lord did not say, “Wait for some time and see if I didn’t come, go back home.” Did He say that? He didn’t say that. This is our problem. We cannot obey. We always want to question God.

True Spirituality’s foundation is obedience. If you want to walk with God, you must obey. “Forsake all and follow Me”, says the Lord. If you forsake all, you must believe with silent simplicity that He will take care of you. He will, if you obey.

Now look at Jesus when He was on this earth, He did that. Matthew 14:23, Luke 6:12; 9:28; John 6:15, He climbed up the mountain, He climbed up the secret place, the secret stairs to talk with God.

Finally, while you’re up there, verse 14 says, “Let me see your face, let me see your voice, make yourself known to God.”

1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us that Jesus Christ your bridegroom waits for you to reveal yourself to Him.

Solomon 5:2 and Revelation 3:20 tells us that He knocks at the door, waits for you to open.

He’s waiting for you to reveal your heart to Him. Whatever is in your heart, open your heart and talk to God. Don’t follow King James in English in prayer; don’t follow grammatically correct sentences before God in prayer, talk like a little child to God. Whatever is in your heart, freely talk to Him.

1 Corinthians 8:3 “Love opens up your heart to God.”

The bridegroom desires to see your face, to hear your voice, to see your heart, open, unveil yourself, make yourself naked before His all seeing eyes and tell Him what is in your heart. Everything, hide no secrets. Between a husband and wife, there must be no secrets.

Bride’s preparation for revival

Speaker: Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj

Main: Genesis 24

Key point: A great revival before the end comes…

Joel 2:28-29 “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”

If conditions can’t be fulfilled, revival can’t come upon your personal life, your family, your churches, your cities or your nation.

The bride must get ready not only for the coming of the Lord but also for the end-time revival.

When we talk about the bride, we need to qualify one statement: Who is the bride? Every born again believer whether whichever church you are from: Methodist church, Presbyterian church, Catholic church, Lutheran church, which ever church, if you are truly born again washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, you are a member of the body of Christ. However, not everyone in the body of Christ is part of the bride. The body of Christ is different from the bride of Christ. They are not the same. Let me give you a very simple illustration: There are many women in this auditorium. I’m sure there are many unmarried single ladies here in our midst. Let’s suppose, one of you have your wedding so you go around giving your wedding invitation to everyone and the wedding day comes. And the pastor is ready, the church is ready beautifully decorated on your wedding day and the handsome bridegroom is waiting impatiently for his beautiful bride and then when the patient is about to die out, they announce that the bride is coming, then they play the most famous bridal march music. As they were playing, how many women will walk down the aisle to meet the bridegroom, only one, isn’t it? But there are many women in the wedding! However, only one woman who has made herself ready like the bride for the wedding day will walk down the aisle, not all who calls themselves woman will walk down the aisle. What will happen if the entire women walk down? The poor bridegroom is going to have a big problem. He may not know who to choose. So remember, all the women are woman, the bride is also a woman but only she who had made herself ready like the bride to walk down the aisle to meet her bridegroom is qualified. Likewise, not all who are saying, ‘I am of the Lord Jesus Christ.’ is the bride.

Matt 25 talked about 10 virgins getting ready to meet the bridegroom. Five were wise and five were foolish. However, all the 10 are going to meet the bridegroom. When the bridegroom came, the Lord Jesus said very clearly that only five wise virgins who were ready met the bridegroom and went together with Him to the wedding feast. The other 5 foolish virgins who were not ready couldn’t enter the wedding feast. Five went in and five were left out but all the ten were virgins getting ready to meet the bridegroom. The Lord Jesus Christ made it very certain without any room for other thoughts who will be the bride, it’s very simple.

Likewise when the revival comes, you know, most Singaporeans live in flats. In one flat usually there are 12 blocks of flats. For instance, you are living in that particular row, you are one Christian and the rest (11 families) are non Christian. In all the years that you live in that flat, have you really shared the gospel to any one of them? Even if you didn’t share, have you ever brought them to the Lord? Or brought them to a meeting like this? Or at least give them a track and then run away? No. But there will be some Christians who care for their neighbors or loved ones who may give a track or who may evangelize or who may share the gospel or who may bring them to a meeting like this so that they will come into the kingdom of God. I live in Madras City in India. In that particular street where we live, our office is the only Christian house among about 20 very Orthodox Hindu families. But they all are watching our weekly TV programs without fail. Whenever I stepped out of my office to go out anywhere, some of these Orthodox Hindu people will come out to wish me and greet me. So I thought for a long time, I do not know how long we are going to live in that particular street before we move to a bigger place. So I determine in my heart that we’ll never leave that place without everyone of them hearing the Gospel directly from my lips. So I was praying for the good timing, the good way how I could present the Gospel to them. And we produced our first evangelistic VCD about Christmas. So I told my staffs since these would be a Christmas season and during Christmas season, Chinese New Year, Hariraya we all give Kwek kwek to everybody. All the joy of giving kwek kwek, red oranges, bottles of 7-up and Pepsi-cola to neighbors are gone. So I told my staff, in every 20 buckets of sweets, put one VCD to give to every household and tell them “this is a gift from our boss, the priest.” So they went to every house, they knock on the door and I told them if anyone asked you why are you giving this, just tell them, “this is Christmas time, we are sharing our gift with you.” So every neighbor who received our gift, sat down and watch this evangelistic program and from that moment onwards they started watching our weekly TV program. Now, whenever anyone is in trouble, they came knocking on our door to ask me to pray for them. You see, sometimes you can’t directly evangelize but there are so many other different ways of doing it. I just share to you some practical principles how to evangelize. So some of them will pray and get ready for revival, with one revival there will be many who are not interested. Churches will just be a ‘shall-shall’ talk to them. They come on a Sunday; they go back home on a Sunday. Or there are some Christians who only go to churches twice a year, Good Friday and Christmas. These are perennial Christians.

The bride must not only get ready for revival but must be prepared for revival. Sometimes when God sends the wind of revival blowing upon your churches, blowing upon your cities, blowing upon your life, when you missed that wind, you missed that season. You missed it. An opportunity comes for you for your family member to get saved but when you missed it, you missed it for good. You must be prepared to get ready.

On Sunday midnight as I was waiting on God what I should share tonight, on that midnight, the word of the Lord came to me. ‘Turn your bible to Genesis 24’ and as I turn the bible to Genesis 24, very clearly I heard the voice of the Lord Jesus telling me “The Brides preparation for revival.” And as I continually reading this passage of Scripture the Holy Spirit begin to open my eyes to see an entire picture of the bride getting ready for revival in this passage of Scripture. In this passage, you’ll find Abraham becoming very old and he called his servant and commissioned him to go and find a bride for Isaac before Abraham died. So the servant went to find a bride and brought her in married to Isaac. That’s the story you’ll find in Genesis 24. Now look at verse 4-6. Abraham sends a servant to go and bring a bride for Isaac. Now Abraham told his servant, “Go to my father’s house, go among my relatives and bring a bride for my son.” So the servant asked him, “What if the girl will not come to where you are, can I bring your son to where the girl is?” Abraham told him, “No, you will not bring my son to the land where the Lord told me to come out.” This is something very interesting. Before Isaac was born, God told Abraham to come out from his father’s house. What is his father’s house? His father’s house and land is an idol maker. They were hidden worshippers like the Hindus, like the Buddhists, they were worshipping all kinds of gods. Out of the midst of the multitudes of gods, God called Abraham, “Come out! Don’t stay in your father’s house.” Now Abraham is telling his servant, “Don’t bring my son back to the place where God told me to come out.” This is the principle we learn from here, two things. Firstly, the Lord Jesus Christ came to this world to save us and to redeem us from all sins. Now, the Holy Spirit is calling us to come out from where we are living, “Do not partake the sins of the land. Come out!”

In Isaiah 52:11, the Word of the Lord that came to the prophet Isaiah is “Depart! Depart! Do not partake the sins of the land.”

The first condition for the bride to get ready, to be prepared to be ready for the revival to come is you must come out from where you are—compromising lifestyle and unholy lifestyle. What is your lifestyle? I know of a dear sister. This young lady got married to a fine godly man. Two months after their marriage, suddenly her husband died for reasons even the doctors don’t know. So when she became a widow, all her future became dark, no hope. So she went back home. She held a prestigious job in the National ministry of Singapore. Her former boss heard the tragedy that happened to her, personally called her, consoled her and then told her, “Since you are so dear to me and I felt so sympathetic towards your condition today. If you are willing to come back and you want a job, I’ll give you a job in a very same last positioned you had and I will reinstate the last salary that you draw. So think about it.” So she began to think. She thought, “If I stayed home, I’ll become a young new widow who’s going to have recurring thought about the events that happened in my life and I’m going to sit down and cry and cry and cry.” So she went to seek the Lord on what she should do. When she prayed, the Lord told her, “Don’t go back to Egypt, I took you out of Egypt, don’t go back to Egypt.” What the future for her, she doesn’t know but one thing the Lord told her very clearly, “I took you out of Egypt, don’t go back to Egypt.” Abraham came out from his fatherland and he didn’t want him to go back. First thing you must do…where do you live? The bride must come out from where she is and be separated. The Lord said very clearly, “You are in this world but you’re not of the world.”

In Revelation 18:4, you will read a voice coming down from heaven calling out to the people, “Come out! Come out from Babylon, do not partake the sins of Babylon, come out!”

The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is drawing closer and closer. The birth of every year, I always think, is one year closer to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just before we can enjoy the revelry of the birth of 2005, now we are at the three quarter of the year. Just like a blinking of an eye, a year passed through so fast. And we are ready to usher in 2006. How many more years do we have before the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Just everybody guess. But this I guarantee you, you don’t have 100 years.

A few months ago, I was speaking at a conference in US and before I spoke that day, they have another speaker, a military coronel from the US armed forces. He is the chief chaplain in the US armed forces so he was invited to come and share something about what God was doing in Iraq, to the Muslim people in Iraq and to the armed forces there and he shared a wonderful testimony of God’s amazing work in the Arab lands. And as he was sharing about what God was doing and how people are getting saved and how they dug up holes in the sand and filled it with water and baptized people there, he mentioned one thing. As he was speaking, he became suddenly quiet for a moment, he glanced at everybody in the auditorium as if he was pondering in his mind, “Should I say or not?” and then he said, “Ok I am going to tell you something, a tough secret information from the pentagon. We may not have more than 10 or 11 years before a major world war takes place from 2005.” Whether it’s true or not, I don’t know but it is a good warning. Supposed it is true, then what? You’ll be left unprepared. If this is true, better to get ready. I’ll tell one simple thing, never take your security for granted. Don’t think everything is perfect in every nation and no disaster can touch you. Look at America today; every day in Newspaper, you’ll know what happened to New Orleans. What I find quite amusing but very sad is this, when they showed pictures of how the hurricane has damaged New Orleans and they showed people sleeping in the streets, begging, and standing in queues getting their ration of food. The headline screamed, “Is this America?” Do you know I read and I re-read those headlines over and over again and today the headlines screamed, “Is this Somalia or America?” Ponder this, great superpower of the world is helpless, how much more any other nation in this world when the Day of the Lord comes? It is a terrible day. No nation on the face of this earth can stand before the great terrible Day of the Lord. Remember this, as long as a nation will honor the Lord God as their God then they are protected. If no nation ever honors the Lord God as their God, they can only hope for God’s mercy.

So when Abraham sent out his servant, you’ll read in verse 11 that the servant took 10 camels and loaded them with goods and went to Abraham’s fatherland to look for a bride for his son. Some interesting things you can find in this Scripture. “The servant took camels…he took 10 camels from his master and departed for all the goods of his master were in his hand and he arose and went to Mesopotamia into the city of Nahor and he made his camels to kneel down outside the city by a well of water, at the time of the evening when the time that woman go out to draw water.” Let’s ponder carefully some key things mentioned in the scripture. Firstly, the servant. We know that it is Abraham’s servant so, how does this apply to us in terms of the bride and revival?

Firstly, the servant here represents the Holy Spirit who is now preparing the bride of Jesus Christ to meet the bridegroom.

The Holy Spirit is He who sanctifies us when you yield your life to the Holy God, when you take all the ugliness within you and you give to God. The Spirit of sanctification, the Spirit of holiness will sanctify you and make you holy to be presented as a holy sacrifice unto God. That is the work of the Holy Spirit; our work is to yield. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to prone, to refine, to purify and to make holy.

Secondly, look at the thing the servant brings–camels.

The camels are carrying goods and accompany the servant. Here the camels signify the angels of God in heaven who are assigned to work together with the bride for revival. You are not alone when you go and share the Gospel with your loved ones. You are never alone. You know, there is a wonderful man of God in India who once had gone to US to preach at a particular church. So after he had finished speaking in this church in Texas, he came down and sat at the front row. Then the senior pastor of the church went up to the pulpit to make one announcement. He said, “As our custom, we’re going to pray for whatever needs you have in your lives, if you are sick in your bodies and you want prayer, get up from your chairs and come to the front.” So this man of God was just bowing his head and prayed. As he was praying, his spiritual eyes were opened and he saw that as people got up from their chairs and came to the front, every believer was led to the altar by an angel. So about several hundred walk down the aisle to be prayed for by the pastors and the elders and hundreds of angels accompanied them and brought them to the front. As he was observing this, the Lord Jesus told him, “Healing the sick is a work I like to do very much, healing their minds, their bodies, healing their souls, healing their spirits.” God delights in that.

Angels of God are always assigned to walk together with us because the Holy Bible says in Hebrews 1:14 that the angels of God are sent to help all those who will inherit salvation. Every born again believer washed by the blood of Jesus Christ are heirs of salvation …angels of God are sent to help all those who are heirs of salvation and not only that, Matthew 13:30 says that the angels of God are involved in revival meetings, they are involved in Salvation works. They work together to bring in the harvest of God. So here in this passage, the servant represents the Holy Spirit, the camels represents the angels.

Now let’s go on and look at another very interesting point here.

In verse 11, he made his camels to kneel down outside the city by a well of water.

In ancient days, many people dug up their own wells and that would be like a family property even in India. Now when you buy a piece of land, you don’t buy a piece of land which has no water.  People will get some of these water experts to come and test and see which land has water then they’ll buy a land for which you can make a well for water. In the same way, they found this well of water; he came and stood by the well of water.

Now what are these wells of water? They are areas of revival.

In areas where revival either has taken place or takes place, nothing dies. Let us say for example, in this area, let us say 20 years ago, there was mighty revival in this place and then after that it has died down, no more revival. There are lots of businesses going on. In the natural eyes, the revival seemed to have died but in the eyes of God nothing dies. The angels are stationed there waiting for something to happen, waiting for the bride to come at that place. The wells are areas of revival. The Holy Spirit and angels of God are waiting near the areas of revival. Let me give you one example about this. I live in two places in India; one is in north among the Himalayan Mountains and one in the south. For 17 years of my life I live in the north India in a beautiful place called Darjeeling, beautiful place where the famous tea comes from. In 1997, the Lord told me to begin a youth camp meeting there. He said he’s going to pour out a revival in that area and the whole of the Himalayas will experience a mighty revival from the Lord. He said very clearly to me “but first the revival will begin among the young people before the entire region get revived.” Therefore we organized a youth camp meeting and from 1997 up to this year, every January we have a grand youth meeting where about 600 to 700 young people come from all over Himalayas for a 6 days celebration. And every youth who is not born again who enters the auditorium will never enter the auditorium without getting a touch from the Holy God, they got saved, baptized in the Holy Ghost and their spiritual eyes are opened to see the glories of God. So this takes place every year. Now on the third year, the crowd was growing bigger. The biggest auditorium in that town can only sit 530 people but we were breaking safety laws by making people sit everywhere. I had no other choice. So one day, I began to pray and asked the Lord to show us another place where we had a bigger auditorium that can sit 1000 people so that I don’t have to turn away any people. As I was praying, an angel of the Lord came from heaven and he told me, “It is appointed for you to remain in this place and not move out of this place.” So I told the angel, “If we don’t move out of this place, we’ll have this problem. So what shall we do? Can you move the heart of the government to turn out this auditorium and make it sit 1000 people?” He never seemed as if he was listening to what I was saying but he looked at me and he said that in the mid-40s, a mighty revival broke out in that region and what ever happened during the revival is exactly as how you would read in the book of Acts 2-4, mighty signs and wonders took place. Everyone who would enter in that one particular church, would get save. Even one mile before they were coming near to the church building, they will fall down on their faces and call upon the name of the Lord to get saved. This revival lasted for three years. After that, it died down. That was in 1942-1945. And the angel told me, “This place is the place of revival so stay here and from here the wells of revival will flow out into all over this Himalayan region.” You see it happened in 1945 but we started this meeting in 1997. For almost 52 years, they were all waiting there for another person to come, for another move of God to come, when that move came, what the old well was not taken away. The new came and dug up the old wells of revival and gush forth rivers of living water to water every dry and thirsty soul who came there. So, wells of revivals are areas, places where there are revivals that have taken place.

In verse 11, the second part says, “they made the camels to kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of the evening when the time that women go out to draw water.” Please take note “the time that women go out to draw water.” It seems they just didn’t go at any time they like, there was a time, certain time, during that certain time, let’s say 3 o’clock in the afternoon. During that 3 o’clock in the afternoon, all the women in that village will go to draw water.

What is the time? There is a time of refreshing that is going to come from the Lord very soon.

download (2)

Acts 3:19 “A time of refreshing is going to come very soon.”

When that time comes, you must know the seasons and times of God and be prepared. You must know when that time is coming. If you don’t know when that time is coming, 3 o’clock will come and go away and you may not have drawn your water. You must know the seasons and the times. Don’t just about your life as if nothing take place in this world.

While our life is going on in this world, have you ever thought that all those creatures living under the seas, their life are also going on? Life goes on everywhere. And the poor birds are flying around looking for food to eat. In this world and in the world above and in the world below, life is going on. Likewise, life is going on in two other spiritual worlds– the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of hell. The kingdom of heaven is always conscious of an activity for salvation of souls, for the bride to get ready and for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have a dear friend, a prophet of God in South India. Recently while he was fasting and praying, he shared with me, he felt his spirit was caught up to heaven just like you read in Rev 4:1 where the apostle John was caught up to heaven and he saw the things that were taking place in heaven. When he came and stood in heaven, an angel met him and said, “Come.” So the angel took his hand, brought him to a place where there was a huge square and the angel told him, “Just stand here and see.” And in that square, there were about several thousands of redeemed saints and angels of God just worshipping God. They were lifting up their hands. They were prostrating down the floor, they were kneeling down, and they were just joyfully worshipping God. And the Lord Jesus Christ stood in what look like a stage and they were all worshipping the Lord. This went on for some time. After that it seemed that there was a certain time for worship. When that time was over, they heard like the sound of the ringing of the bell. When the bell rang, the worship ended. And in split second, everyone was rushing here and there to go about something that they all need to do. He was so surprised. He was just standing there and looking but neither one of them bangs each other. All the several thousands of them were moving at amazing speed, rushing. He was wondering, “What’s happening, for one moment they were all calmly worshipping the Lord, the next moment they all are rushing about.” The angel who stood beside him was watching everything and observing his reaction. Knowing what was going on, he smiled and told him, “Do you know why everybody is rushing so hurriedly? Time will delay no longer. Jesus Christ is coming soon.”

Time will delay no longer. Heaven is in a great state of preparation for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. What about our lives? We are so busy building our own empire in this world. We are so busy trying hard to fight with each other. We are so busy struggling to overcome the weaknesses of our flesh. We are so busy building a career, building a name for yourself like the tower of Babel. We are so busy getting into marriage, coming out of marriage. Oh yes, isn’t it taking place? It’s like changing clothes today. When you walk down the aisle, you make the covenant, ’till death do us part.’ That death today has a different meaning, not physical death. A death is a quarrel. A death is ‘I can’t agree with the way you press the toothpaste.’ We laugh but it’s really happening. Incompatibility–if our parents had thought like that, where will we be today? Our aged parents never lived happily ever after. They all live cats and dogs’ life but they put up with the cat and the dog. Isn’t it?

You know, all these are signs of what the Lord Jesus Christ prophesies in Matthew 24. They’ll be given in marriage and taken in marriage. It’s happening. You’re giving and you’re taking it back. Understand the seasons and the times. When the evening time came they all went to draw water. When the time for your call comes, are you prepared? Are you ready? When the time comes for you to move, are you willing to move? When the time comes to move, when you don’t move, that time will move away. The cloud passes you by and you’re staying in your old place. You will die there. Your calling dies with you, your anointing dies with you, you die. But let me tell you one thing, the Scripture says, “The gifts and callings of God are without repentance but when you repent, God will restore. However, the missed season will not come back to you again. When you miss that season, God will raise up another person to do the job. And you miss the special grace, special favor, special place that God has reserved for you, you missed it. And it will be given to another man who is willing to answer the call. You know the life you live in this world is temporary. It’s not permanent. The life that you’re going to live in the next world is permanent. So we should have eternity in mind when you live in this world. Don’t live a life as if eternity doesn’t exist.

When the season comes, are you ready? If you read Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah saw a vision of God’s glory. As he was seeing the glory, he heard a voice saying, “Who will go on our behalf?” He never look to the left or to the right, he immediately answered, “Here am I Lord, sent me.” He was prepared. Are you prepared for the seasons and the times of God upon your life or are you just living by like a dog’s life?

Verse 15, “It came to pass before he had finished praying that behold Rebekah came out was born to Bethuel son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her jar (pitcher) upon her shoulder.”

The bride must carry the burden for revival. You must carry the burden for revival. Hoping, wishing will not bring a revival. The bride must carry the burden for revival and must know where to draw waters of revival from. You know, the Scripture says that when you come and stand before the judgment seat of Christ, every man must give an account of his life.

Acts 1:8 “You shall be witnesses unto me in all the world.”

Let’s say 10 years since you have been saved till today, have you been a witness for the Lord God? If no, when you come and stand before the judgment seat of Christ, if you are called to give an account and asked “What did you do to be a witness for me?” Will you say, “O Lord, I was so busy building my career.”? Can you say that? Many people are going to say that. But those who say that will not be the bride. If you’re so busy building your career, now please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not saying that you should not have a career. But the career must not become your idol that you cannot survive without it. When it becomes a consuming passion that you give up your relationship with the Lord for your career then it becomes an idol. Ponder in your heart. When a person, let us say, come from a Hindu family or a Chinese family to accept the one true living God, we may have physically given up idols but there may be different kinds of idols still lodged in your hearts. And you were no better than you were before if there were idols still in your heart. Anything that takes the place of God even if in the ministry is an idol before the eyes of God. And there can’t be two gods in a person’s life.  There’s room only for one chair.

When you stand before the judgment seat of Christ, what will you give as an account before Him concerning your life? Every man, every believer is first a minister. You minister unto God–your worship, your giving, your thanksgiving as your sacrifices is your first ministry to God. Are we doing that or are we so busy that we don’t even have time for personal devotion? We have our quiet time once a week but we eat 3x or 5x a day for 7 days a week. Something is wrong with the life we live and yet we hope to be part of the bridal company. We want to be caught up in the rapture; it’s not as easy as you think it is. If it’s easy, we all are wasting all our time sitting here.

Verse 16 “Rebekah was very fair to look upon and she was a virgin.” She was very fair and very beautiful, that’s what the other translation says and she was a virgin. How the servant knew she was a virgin, I don’t know.

In the 16 years of my ministry in Tibet, the Tibetan women have special clothes they wear. A virgin woman dress differently to a married woman. So by the clothes they wore, you can say whether she’s a virgin or a married woman. All married woman have an apron on their waist and a virgin girl never wears an apron. So when a young man looks at a woman, because even all the Tibetan women look so young like a virgin. So they have identification problem. When you live up so high in the Himalayan mountain, you know, you don’t aged. You’re so young and beautiful, everybody who wants to go to Himalayas?

So she (Rebekah) was so fair and so beautiful and a virgin. A perfect qualification to be a bride. If you read Esther 2:7, Esther had similar qualifications, she was fair and beautiful to look upon and she was a virgin. Esther and Rebekah have similar characteristics.

The Bible tells us in Revelation 19:7-8 that the bride made herself ready to meet her bridegroom for the rapture of the church. She has made herself ready. Now look at these two words: fair and beautiful. Fair is what is on the skin, the color of your skin; beautiful is something that is within you that which cannot be seen. So you need two kinds of holiness: an internal holiness and an external cleanliness.

2 Corinthians 7:1 “Be clean and be holy.” Be clean in your flesh and be holy in your spirit. Two kinds.

Rev 19:7-9 “A garment was given to the bride and the garment was clean and white.” Clean and white: cleanliness, holiness. Two qualifications that are necessary. And the Scripture says in v.16,”She went down to the well and filled her pitcher and came up.” There are different kinds of wells. One is a small well where you have a pail strung around or attached on a string and using a pulley, you’ll pull it. You drop the bucket on the water and then you pull it. Then there’s a kind of huge well that is very deep. There are steps from the top to the bottom and the waters do not rise up to the top, they are at the bottom. So if you want to draw the water, you have to go down the steps to the bottom and use your bowls of pitchers to draw water and then walk up.

“Rebekah went down the deep well to draw water.” That speaks about praying for revival. So the bride must pray for revival. If you don’t pray, the revival will never come.

Verse 18-19 shows about Rebekah’s kindness to not only give water to the servant but also water for the camels. She was so kind to even care for those animals. It shows her kindness and her servant heart to help. This speaks of the bride of Jesus Christ that must be full of the fruit of the Spirit and caring for the poor.

Before Galatians 5 mentioned the fruit of the Spirit, it talks about some of our lifestyles. It talks about 17 kinds of lifestyles that are unholy in the eyes of God. These are the 17 works of the flesh. Now I want you to humbly ponder and check your heart, to see how many of these 17 are present in your life?

Gal 5:19 “The works of the flesh are manifested which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanliness, lust viciousness, adultery, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, anger, factions, seditions, heresies, envies, murder, drunkenness and rebelling. And the like of which I tell you before that I also have told you in time passed, that they who do such things (even not all 17 but one is enough) …they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Very simple it is written here. You don’t need any theological dictionary to explain to you. If you’re going to have this all un-Christ like nature inside you, then you’re filled with darkness. If you are filled of darkness, how can you enter into the city of light? Rather you should have the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22).

Nine kinds versus 17 kinds, which do you have? The bride must be adorned with the fruit of the Spirit and be caring for the poor.

Matthew 25:32-46 “When the Lord Jesus Christ came, He looked at the sheep.” People in this world will be divided into two groups–the sheep on the right and the goats on the left. And He says only one thing, “When I was hungry, you fed me; when I was poor, you helped me; when I was naked, you clothed me; when I was in prison, you came to visit me.” That is caring for the poor. The bride of Christ must care for the poor. Are we caring for the poor? The early church in Acts 2:45 and 4:34-35 practice caring for the poor. That is the true bride. She cares for the poor.

Verse 22, “And it came to pass as the camels finished drinking, the man took a golden ring of half a shekel and two bracelets …”

When the servant felt that Rebekah was the right bride for Isaac, he took two kinds of jewelries. One was a nose ring and the other were bracelet on her both hands. Why of all jewelries, only this two kinds? Now, there’s something very significant here.

A nose ring represents the knowledge to know the ways of God. The bride of Christ must know the ways of God.

Hosea 14:9 “You must know the ways of God.”

Not only knowing but two other things besides knowing the ways of God:

  1. Keep, observe the ways of God. (Psalms 18:21)
  2. Be devoted to the ways of God. (2 Chronicles 17:6)

If you want to follow God, you must know His ways. Nose is for smelling. You must know which way the Lord is coming, which way the Lord is going, which way the wind is blowing, which way it’s blowing out, you must know the way. If you don’t know the way, you’ll be like the blind person just walking about everywhere.

Secondly, bracelets. It always refers to doing the works of God.

What are the works of God?

Mark 16:17-18 “Every believer can heal the sick, cast out demons, perform signs and wonders…”

Every believer, not only those who work in full-time ministry, every believer (can do the works of God) Which means if you have a headache, if you have any sickness in your bodies, don’t run to your pastor or to any preacher, lay your hands on your head and command the sickness to leave. Will it leave? It will certainly leave because the Lord Jesus says, “…he who believes.” Do you believe? If you do, you qualify. So why are we running to every preacher in the world to ask them to pray for us? It’s because we are not behaving like a bride. That’s our problem. You’re not behaving like a bride. We are behaving like babies and cry to our mommies.

In the early church, every believer there was a miracle working person.

Acts 4:33; 5:12-16 says that with great power, the apostles perform signs and wonders and there was a mighty revival in the early church because of signs and wonders following…

The eastern world, from the 26 years of my ministry experience, I tell you that the eastern world will be drawn to Christ because of the signs and wonders they see. When we conduct our crusade in India, multitudes come to the foot of the cross by the signs and wonders and miracles they see before their very eyes. When they see supernatural signs taking place like the Lord Jesus Christ standing before everyone on the stage, they got saved, not simply the preaching of the Word. The early church was born. When Jesus Christ was in this world, He did not only teach the Word, He performs signs and wonders. And He said very clearly that this generation will always look for signs and He performs the signs when there are occasion demanded.

This is the bride. The bride must get prepared for the revival that is going to come soon. The bride must get ready for revival and must pray for revival. When the bride does these two things then the third thing will be done by God.

Zechariah 12:10 “He will pour out the Spirit of grace.”

When He pours out His grace, people everywhere will call upon the name of God to get saved.

God is desirous to give, are we ready to receive?

Marriage of the lamb

Speaker: Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj

MAIN: Rev 19:7-9 says,

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!

For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.

Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

Marriage of the lamb is the greatest event that is coming upon the bride of Jesus Christ.

Marriage of the lamb has come in our relationship with Jesus from the day you’re born again till the day of His coming. When you gave your life to the lord Jesus Christ that was the moment you were betrothed with the Lord Jesus Christ. An engagement took place between you and Jesus Christ the moment you said, “Come Lord Jesus, come into my life.”

2 Corinthians 11:2 “I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to Him.”

In every engagement ceremony, what is an engagement without a ring?

Luke 15:22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.”

images (1)

When the prodigal son came back to his father, the first thing the father did was he put the ring in his hand. In the same way when you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior, when you espoused, betrothed, engaged to the Lord Jesus Christ as a bride, He put a ring on you, the seal of the Holy Spirit, the seal of the promise that is parablelized /symbolized as a ring.

Everything in the spiritual realm is parablelized. Words are not words. They are objects. It’s quite amazing, you know, every word is parablelized. They are not real but they look real. Do you understand? I hope you do. They are real but they are not real because they are real in its objectivity. They are not real in their substance. For example, this morning I told you that once as I was praying, an angel of the Lord appeared to me carrying a beautiful silver tray with 4 kinds of fruits. And he told me, “These fruits are from the tree of wisdom in heaven. Now, take and eat.” One of the fruit looked like a watermelon cut in a quarter and the other looked like big fat red grapes. There were 4 or 5 pieces of them. I can’t remember the other 2 kinds of fruits. They all looked very real, real watermelon, real grapes and when I ate it, even the method of eating was real but when it touched my tongue, it did not have the solidity like watermelon. It just kind of melted or disappeared or went inside my mouth, a spiritual substance.  But when i partaken these fruits, many mysteries of God, of the universe, of creation were revealed to me in a faction of a moment. These are marvelous graces that God has. This is what the bible says the tree of life will bear 12 kinds of fruits. And every kind of a fruit is a spiritual blessing parablelized as an object for our eyes to see, for our senses to touch, but when partaken they are spiritual substances that reach to the spirit man. So likewise the ring, the seal of the Holy Spirit is parablelized as a ring. This is the first event that takes place when we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our savior. From that moment till the wedding of the lamb is a period of waiting and preparation, the bride prepares.

Verse 7 “The marriage of the lamb is come and his wife had made herself ready.”

This is the most important phrase in the entire marriage supper of the lamb that we can’t afford to overlook. The wife had made herself ready. The bridegroom is coming for his bride.

Rev 16:15 “I am coming like a thief.” Suddenly, He will, without pre-announcement. He will certainly come for His church. And only they who had made themselves ready will hear the sound of the trumpet that will be blown, not everybody.

In 1985, I went to Singapore for meetings. I landed at the airport. I took a cab to go to this pastor’s house. From the airport to the pastor’s house is a distance of about 15 kilometers. While we were travelling, I suddenly heard, it’s about 10 at night, I heard a sound of trumpet been blown so I turn and looked around where this sound coming from. Now the airport is in a reclaimed land by the sea and towards the left and right is just a barren land, airport land. So there’s no way anyone can be playing trumpet at that hour. So I thought I was just imaging stuffs, you know sometimes we hear ringing in the ear if we’re traveling on the plane, have you experienced that? So, mine sounded like a trumpet. That’s all, instead of ringing of a bell, it sounded like trumpets. A few moments later, again I heard a sound of a trumpet. So I asked the driver, “Excuse me sir, where is this sound of the trumpet coming from?” He turned around and looked at me and he asked me, “What sound?” I said, “Don’t you hear this sound coming, this trumpet sound?” I even described to him how it sounded by trying to imitate the sound of the trumpet. And he asked me, “Where are coming from?” I said, “India.” He said, “No wonder.” So I kept all the insults to me and I just kept quiet. Two minutes later, again I heard the sound of the trumpet. The third time, the Holy Spirit told me, “Now listen carefully…” As I quieted within and listen carefully, I could perceive very clearly this sound of the trumpet coming all the way from heaven. You know, our spirit is intelligent enough to sense the direction from which the source is coming from. And then the word of the Lord came unto me saying, “There are two of you in this car, only you heard the sound of the trumpet. Likewise in that day, two will be in the field, one shall be taken, and one shall be left behind. Two will be lying in the bed, one shall be taken, and one shall be left behind. Only you could hear the sound of the trumpet because you had made yourself ready and not this driver.” Only they who had made themselves ready will hear the sound of the trumpet calling the bride, “Come up!”

There are so many controversies about the rapture in Christianity everywhere. The Lord Jesus Christ very simply, clearly said in Matthew 24:40-41 about the taking away of the bride. Very simple so why are you fighting about it?

And Paul mentions it in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 “According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”  The catching away has the same root word used by the Lord Jesus Christ ‘taken’. The Greek word for the word ‘taken’ is the only one word being used once in that one particular place in the entire New Testament. And that word means ‘to be removed and kept in a shelf for future use.’

Is there any biblical proof for the rapture, of course there is. Look at Enoch; he was translated without tasting death. Genesis 5:22-24 tells us like that. And look at Elijah, 2 Kings 2:11, translated, taken up to heaven in the eyes of everybody who were looking around, without tasting death. And look at the Lord Jesus Christ Himself in Acts 1:9-10; while He was blessing the people, He was taken up alive in fact in a slow motion manner so that they can all see there are no strings attached.

Furthermore, besides the rapture being in great controversy in Christianity, there is another controversy paying to injury concerning the rapture: pre-tribulation rapture, mid-tribulation rapture and post tribulation rapture. You know, we are already fighting our rapture, now here comes another war. Speaking of war, I want to tell you about something what God revealed. There lives a very saintly prophet of God in Australia. He’s a very dear friend of mine. Very recently, he was visited by the Lord Jesus Christ. This happened during the time when the US was going very hard after the Al Qaeda and Osama in Afghanistan. The Lord Jesus Christ came and told him, “Pray for USA that she will not make a plunder, if US goes after Saddam Hussein in Iraq, it will have great consequences on Israel, pray that US will not make this mistake.”

So while there is a rapture controversy, now we have this pre-trip, mid-trip, post-trip controversy. When will the church be raptured? Whichever you believe, the bible clearly states, “Before God’s wrath is poured out, He will always protect His people.”

I can give you 2 specific biblical examples. Before God poured out His wrath upon Sodom and Gomorrah, the righteous Lot’s family was removed. Before God poured out His wrath in the whole world through a flood, the righteous Noah’s family was removed. All throughout history, this is evident. God’s chosen ones will be removed because you see, it is written very clearly, “He that touched you, touched the apple of my eye.” So how can God allow his apple to be touched? He will not allow that. So I hope you found the answer to the controversy. Pre-trip, mid-trip or post-trip, which is the right trip? I always say like this, whether it is pre-trip, mid-trip or post-trip, if you want to make a trip, you must be ready. What is the use if you are so theologically wise and you can dissect all the trips but you’re not ready? What is the use? Suppose pre-trip is wrong and mid-trip is wrong and post trip is right, but if I am ready and you are ready, does it matter which trip? When the trumpet is blown, you are translated the next moment. You don’t have to wait for the rapture to take place, right now; you can have your rapture. Right now it is absolutely possible when your spirit is so transform and  your soul is so transform and your body will be transform and you’ll be immediately transformed into light and be caught up into heaven. Just like this Chinese lady, Mrs. Jo that sister Gwen shared about, how she was translated. It’s taking place around the whole world. Many people are experiencing translations. Why should you taste death? You know death is the curse of sin. If we have been redeemed from the curse of the law then we should also be redeemed from tasting death. If you walk with God then you won’t taste death because there is no death in the Lord Jesus Christ, He is life. So if you walk with Him, you will receive life, more life, more abundant life, too much life. Eventually you’ll be so full of the Lord Jesus Christ and His light will embrace you totally.

The wife had made herself ready.

Only the bride will be caught/call away and not all who are part of the body of Christ. The larger body of Christ is different from the bride of Jesus Christ. Let me give you one example. Suppose there is a wedding in our midst. Now the bride is a woman, am I right? I know why all of you are laughing; it is dangerous to ask this question in the western world. I would have no problem asking this question in the east. In the west, now we do not know who the bride is. They all are alike. Let’s go by the original pattern. In the original pattern, the bride is a woman, right? Now the bride is a woman and the entire women guess who come on a wedding, they are also woman. The bride is a woman and all the woman who are guess in the wedding are also woman but only the woman who make herself as a bride will walk down the aisle, not all the woman who come for the wedding will walk down aisle but only she who make herself ready for the wedding day will walk down the aisle. In the same way, the whole body of Jesus Christ they who make themselves ready. How many? According to the parable of the foolish virgins and wise virgins, it’s 50-50. Five wise, five foolish. See one thing common about the 10 virgins is they were all meeting the bridegroom. But only 5 are ready, the other 5 were not ready. They claimed, they wanted, they desired like everybody else to meet the bridegroom but they are not ready, only 5 were ready. And the 5 heard the voice of the bridegroom calling and they went. You know, that is not so bad. The greater tragedy is this: when the other 5 came back and they cried and cried and cried, the Lord’s ear was shut. That is the greater tragedy when His ears were shut to all their cries and He did not show an ounce of mercy. If you are left behind because you did not make yourself ready, that will be the greatest tragedy in your life. All the crying, all the repentance after death is useless. When Noah preached for 120 years, nobody believed him. When they entered into the ark, the scripture says, “And God closed the door from the outside.” Why? Have you ever thought why God didn’t allow the door to be closed from the inside? Because God knows human heart. We can be move with compassion and pity and open the door. But God has a time for grace. When the time expires, God shows no mercy. No more mercy when the time expired. See, the moment one drop of rain came down; they would have suddenly realized Noah was right.  Can you imagine every one of them going and banging on the door, “Open! Open! Open!” just like the 5 foolish virgins banging on the door, “Open! Open! Open!”

From the oldest to the youngest, can you imagine how much Noah must have hardened his heart to the cries of the little ones? I’m sure their hearts would have gone fighting to open the door by hearing the cries of the little ones but God closed the door. He closed the door.

My dearly beloved brothers and sisters, don’t play with God. You can play with anybody else in this world but don’t mess around with God. You don’t know whom you are messing around with. Don’t just think He’s an ordinary carpenter from Nazareth, don’t think like that. He is the Lord God of the entire universe. If you think you can mess around, fool around, play church, praise the Lord, you have all your fine, in fact you have plenty of playmates down in hell. They all are waiting to play games, not in heaven. God is a good God. His mercy and grace endures forever and ever, however He has appointed a time. Only she who had made herself ready would be caught up as the bride.

The wife had made herself ready, how?

Esther 2 says that Esther had 12 months of preparation to meet the king.

The day that you are espouse to the Lord Jesus Christ, from that day till the day you are married, it is your solid responsibility to remain as a pure virgin. That is the bride’s responsibility. This is how she made herself ready. She protected herself, kept herself chased and a virgin.

Your body could have been defiled but your spirit must be undefiled.

In the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ, there are four prostitutes. How could this be? He the Holy One of Israel, how can there be a taint with His lineage? This was how the Lord Jesus Christ explained to me, “These four women were tainted in their body but their heart was clean. They did not embrace prostitution with all their heart forced by circumstances imposed upon them. Only their body was defiled, not their heart. In their heart, they were pure virgins. Their souls were pure virgin. That is the reason why they are preserved.” Even Rahab the prostitute, why she was chosen to be saved from destruction was another good example for the pre-trip rapture, saved before destruction. Why? Her heart was right. Her heart was clean. Her heart was pure before the all seeing eyes of God.

I can actually tell you many examples of some women who are battered and bruised in their soul who have come to me for prayer. Do you know, there was once a girl in our church. The Lord Jesus told me about her life. No one knows about her life. The Lord Jesus said, “This girl was sexually molested when she was a little girl. And she is so badly bruised in her spirit. Go and tell her that unless she lets go of that bitterness, she will not have a good married life in the future.” So I invited the girl to come and see me and I told her what the Lord said. She broke down and cried for 20 minutes for 25 years of pain in her heart, she cried terribly like a little baby. And when she lifted up her head, she told me a very heartbreaking story. It was her own brother that molested her and raped her. He worked as a seaman and every time he come back home, he’d rape his sister. And when she went and told her parents, her parents told her, “Just ignore what your brother is doing and submit to him because he is the breadwinner in the family.” Can you imagine how this poor girl must have felt? The very parents who supposed to protect her left her defenseless. Everyday every time he comes back, she will be driven in fear every time her brother comes back home because she will have to go through hell. That day when she opened up her heart to the Lord Jesus and allowed the healing hands of Jesus Christ to heal her broken heart, do you know the first miracle happened was her countenance change. There was kind of a life in her face, joy in her face. Today she is happily married and a mother of two children. The Lord Jesus showed me if she had not let go of the bitterness, when she will have sex with her husband, the thought of her brother will come before her mind and she will see her husband as her brother and she cannot consummate her marriage. That was the Lord was one thing to heal her. And she was healed. Totally set free. So many women are like that. You know somehow, the devil has single out a woman to destroy her of the thing that is precious to her. You see all the pornographic magazines that are in the world today, most of them portray woman in all her ugliness and the poor women with no better sense in their mind thinking that they are getting lots of money are willing to cast away their chastity and parade what they call showing off their assets. Do you know the angels covered their faces with great shame? But that is how the devil have deceived, corrupted our thinking to destroy woman. Why? Because she was going to give birth to the Messiah, corrupt her, destroy her. See, women are special to God. And I tell you today, all the women who are here, you don’t know who you are; you don’t know the inherent power that is within you. You don’t know. If you knew, you would not be so defeated in your life. You do not know the power and the ability that is within you to give birth to plans of God, visions of God, the purposes of God. The virgin Mary didn’t just give birth to the Son of God; she gave birth to the plan of redemption that which was given birth from her womb 2000 years ago. Till today the plan was executed. One woman, not a company of woman who yielded her body, her soul, her spirit to the purposes of God. One woman totally foregoing her reputation, good name, prestige, her self-image, everything laid down at the foot of the cross. She gave birth to the plan of redemption. That is why the Lord Jesus Christ gives her the highest honor ‘blessed among all women.’ not so much that she gave birth to the Son of God but because she chose to die. She chose to totally die to everything. Do you know what Mary did may not be a big thing in the western culture but in the eastern culture it is a greatest thing for an unwed young teenager to be pregnant. And on top of that she doesn’t even know who slept with her. That is the worst thing. She couldn’t even point a finger and say, “This is the father of my child.” She could not say. She could only point a finger up, who would believe that? Right? Such a thing never took place before in history. Who would believe that? But she died. Are you willing?

I tell you once again my dearly beloved sisters; within you is an awesome power of God, ability of God that you do not know. Within every one of you is a hidden diamond buried under the earth that is to be unearthed and brought out.

The bride of Jesus Christ must be pure virgin, undefiled in her heart and soul and in her body which means you have no other gods beside you. No other husbands beside the Lord Jesus, keeping your heart in single minded devotion. That is what it means the virgin bride of Jesus Christ–keeping your heart, soul in single-minded devotion, uncorrupted from the things of the world and the lusts of the world.

How to be the bride? How can we prepare ourselves as a bride?

Verse 8 gives us a clue, “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen clean and white for the fine linen was the righteousness of the saints.”

I would like to call your attention to the first phrase, “…to her was granted.” when was it granted to her? After she had made herself ready. Not before. After she had made herself ready, to her was granted, to her was given the privilege. It is not an automatic thing that you receive. It’s a grant by God’s grace. A grant.

What is fine linen?

The scripture explains that it is the righteousness of the saints. Now the bible tells us that all our righteousness is like filthy rags and we have no righteousness on our own. If that’s true then why is it here it says that it is the righteousness of the saints.”? If our righteousness is filthy rags and we are only righteous in Christ Jesus, which is all true, then where in the world did we get this righteousness of the saints? The righteousness of the saints comes as a result of righteous deeds, righteous works that we work when we obeyed the word of God.

Rev 19:8 “…to her was granted after she make herself ready.”

Eph 4:24 tells us that when you put on the Lord Jesus Christ and practice what the Word of God preaches, you’re walking in righteousness, you receive the boldness to appear before the King.

Hebrews 4:16; 10:19 “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need…therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.”

Secondly, the garment is clean means cleanliness from defilement (original sin and daily sins)

Ephesians 1:7 tells us that we were redeemed by the blood of Lord Jesus in our original sin but everyday of our walk, we’re committing sins.

Ephesians 5:26 tells us that the Word of God washes us continuously every time we’re cleansed from all defilement.

How are we defiled?

Galatians 5:17-21 describes the 17 works of the flesh that we practice in our everyday walk in life that defiles us. Our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, but only they who are clean can enter into heaven. Psalms 15; 24:3-6 tells us like that.

Thirdly, “…the garment is white…” represents holiness.

2 Corinthians 7:1-2 “Since we have these promises, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

It is our duty, God is holy. And they who want to walk with Him must be holy. Holiness is inward beauty. Without it is impossible to see God.

In verse 8, bride wears a garment, fine linen which is clean and white. It is not just clean and white but a garment of light. The righteous acts we do are light, composes of light.

Psalms 37: 6 “He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

When the bride puts on this garment, it is the garment of light, clean and bright, glistening color. There are billion colors in heaven and the saints of God wears different colors of robes according to their spiritual stature. Not everybody wears white. I have seen this in heaven. I have seen some very high-ranking saints in heaven. They were not wearing white, some of them were wearing blue, some wearing red and the martyrs in heaven they have different colored clothing that nobody else has the right to wear, and only they wear that. And the Lord Jesus Christ himself has different colored robes and each robe that He wears has a spiritual meaning. Many times I see the Lord Jesus, He always wear different colored robes and every time He manifests with one particular colored robe, it signifies the particular kind of work that He is accomplishing. Like this afternoon, while I was praying for you, I saw the Lord Jesus Christ wearing this beautiful golden robe and I knew that it signifies that He is going to work on holiness, a work of purity and that’s exactly what we did…to call you out of sin, out of self that you may embrace and put on holiness. So we must understand, we must not be foolish concerning spiritual things.., let’s not just be spiritual babes all the time. The apostle Paul wrote, “Let us go to perfection.” Let’s not be satisfied with spiritual goose bumps in the church. Spiritual goose bump is kindergarten Christianity, which is not for matured Christians. We must go on to perfection.

There are many things in the Christian life that God wants to give to His people. Bride will be adorned in the garment of light. Are you ready to meet your bridegroom?

When the Lord Jesus Christ gave me this message, He told me to emphasize what is contained in this passage. Please look at verse 9

Verse 9 says, “Blessed are they which are called…”

What about those who are not called? Who will be called? They who have made themselves ready. Not everyone will receive an invitation, no. This Canadian convention was so generous on the first night. They had their ladies dressed beautifully like a bride. They’re walking down the aisle with the basket in their hands and a nice little scroll giving out to everybody. Did you all get one? If you did not receive, they are all down here. Everybody got an invitation but this system is not followed in heaven, only in earth we can be very generous. You see this is a good example of what Noah was capable of doing. He wants everybody to come. God is not so generous. He is selective. Blessed are they who are called. I trembled with fear that the Lord Jesus Christ emphasized that one point, “Blessed are they who are called.” What about those who are not called? I pray and you should pray that you receive the invitation. Great and terrible are the days of it. That’s why the Lord said, “Pray that you’ll be counted worthy to escape the damnation that is going to come.” It is a privilege to be counted worthy, to be taken away, that you don’t face the damnation that is going to come.

The marriage of the supper of the lamb is come. The wife has made herself ready. Are you ready? If not, God has brought you to the right place in this convention to stir your hearts up with holy passion, holy desires to be ready as a bride so that together with the Holy Spirit you can look up to heaven and say, and the Spirit and the bride say, “Come.”

Thoughts From The Porch

If you have watched the movie, Sister Act 2 you are familiar with this scene and song. Though the nuns are called by God to love and ministers to others, they have seemed to have built a wall between them and the community. They have put fencing around their living quarters and school for protection. Then, Whoopi Goldberg’s character, Deloris aka Sister Mary Clarence brings them to reality. In order to make a difference beyond their walls, they needed  to get back into the community, be seen and put their calling and God’s love into action.

How many of us who proclaim to be Christian stand inside our homes, churches, or offices and see a world hurting?  Yet, we do nothing. Instead, we build fences, walls and withdraw in order to protect ourselves from the ugly that is outside our door. We pass judgement on people, their lifestyle and situations…

Is God Vulnerable?

zC.S. Lewis said that to love at all is to be vulnerable.  It’s a powerful statement.  The choice to love is inherently risky.  It’s risky because in order to love we have to extend ourselves in some way.  In order to love we must give something up…we must become vulnerable.
