Dawn of April 14, 2014, I dreamed of:

THE MASTER BED…

In my dream, we transfer dwelling with my mom and sister through an ocean vessel from Davao to Cebu. It was not a successful one in some ways because we almost lost all our properties along the way. I saw our paintings, furniture and other stuff left soaked because of the waves tossing the ship. The ship was not safe for cargo since it was loaded in an open space without roof and safety measures so most of our belongings fell and were swallowed in an open sea.

When we reached ashore, I checked the ship. I’m the only one who noticed the great loss of property because everyone was busy. Seeing me, the master bed jumped off from the ship and so I pulled it over to save it. The bed is so significant for me to save. I saw other stuff tossed on their post but I accepted the fact that we are losing them contented with the single bed I kept for ourselves safe.

Thoughts to ponder: The bed represents rest. Our God is our rest. In Him we find rest if we only surrender all our loads and burdens in His hand. Let us allow God to do its total healing in our lives by totally surrendering our lives to Him.

READ Psalms 23

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul,

He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

2 Corinthians 12: 9, 10 says, “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That’s why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

FAITH…

While on the other ship, I and my sister were fixing something. Then I notice a green creature, a sea merman playing with the plastic container I just threw. He looked like a fetus by its size. I screamed and ran away. I was so discomforted. However, my sister befriends him. As I was trying to throw him out, I found out that his body is so delicate made of plastic cellophane. He can read my mind and said, “How could you ask question and then not believe the answer?”

Thoughts to ponder: I don’t see the event or the situation as significant as the question asked by that green creature.

Hebrews 11:1, 6 say, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…and since without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

Hebrews 3: 12-19 says, “See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you maybe hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion. . . so we see that they were not able to enter because of their unbelief.”

VOYAGE…

We kept on our voyage. Suddenly, a huge colourful ship appeared right before our very eyes. It has words written on its body that I hardly remembered. Our voyage was so exciting. Big waves were everywhere until we saw an island which so amazed us.

Thoughts to ponder: In our journey, the road that we walked on may not be the same road every day. Sometimes, it’s smooth, other timesit’s bumpy and full of thorns or stones that stumble us, but take courage and persevere for in our journey, we’re not alone. We have an invisible and intangible companion that walks with us no matter how far or hard our journey is and helps us in times we get tired, holds us up so that we’ll find rest in His presence and the moment our rest is complete, we may be stronger than before to continue the journey with Him. That invisible and intangible companion isour Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:28-29 says, “We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His son.”

Galatians 6: 9 says, “Let us not be weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

IN THE GARDEN…

I was in the park. I saw my former workmates but they no longer recognize me. There was a beautiful garden inside full of flowers of different varieties and colours. I was walking along with it. I was even stepping, tramping my feet. Then I ran towards the open field where I saw some cut weeds and dried leaves purposely collected to make the soil fertile. I asked myself, “Why would they put those dried leaves and thrashes over those healthy grasses and flowers if they wanted to make that soil fertile?” In my opinion, the healthy plants get damaged if they’d be carried that way, just like a single rotten tomato could spoil all the good tomatoes in the basket.

Thoughts to ponder:

Matthew 9: 16-17 says, “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

2 Corinthians 6: 14-17 says, “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said, ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate,’ says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”

MISSION FIELD…

I was confronted by a Muslim guy. He tried to trick me to find out my faith. I was a little afraid knowing that Christians are killed in their territory but before I could answer, I woke up from sleep.

Thoughts to ponder:

Matthew 10: 34- 39 The Lord says, “Do not suppose that I come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but sword. For I have come to turn a ‘man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household,’ Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Matthew 24: 9 -13, Jesus says, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed…nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom…then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.”
