Matthew 5:7, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
If you want legit happiness, you should be full of mercy. The greek word for merciful refers to a lifestyle of being compassionate and sympathetic both in thought and in action. It is a lifestyle consistent with God’s own merciful character as revealed throughout the Bible.
Jesus reminded the Pharisees back then (as He reminds us today) in Matthew 9:10-13 that He is not after outward religiosity or compliance to rituals. Instead, He wants us to be merciful. How then do we apply being full of mercy in our life? Here are three practical applications.
1. KINDNESS (2 Samuel 9:1-13)
2. COMPASSION (Luke 10:25-37)
3. FORGIVENESS (Matthew 18:21-35)
