Yom Kippur: the day of atonement

Today is the day of atonement (Yom-Kippur)–the holiest of all feast; the day of repentance; an everlasting sacrifice to the Lord; the day of sanctification, for the restoration of all things and the establishment of all things…the holiest day to the Lord, interceding for the nation and of Israel, and the day of salvation in the house of Israel.

Prayer of Repentance (Personal sins)

Meditate: Psalms 24:3-5

– Clean hands…Psalms 15:1-5

– Pure heart …Psalms 51:7; Malachi 3:2-3; John 15:3

– Not lifted the soul to idols…1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19-20; Hebrews 12:14

– He that is truthful…Revelation 21:8

Sins of the Tongue: (Prophecy – The Philippines will enter a Word-war)

“Speech is the index of the Mind/ Soul.” (Index- summary)

Matthew 12:34 “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.”

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life is in the power of tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

James 3:6 “The tongue is a Fire, a world of iniquity”

James 3:8 “…a deadly weapon”

James 3:2 “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in words, the same is a perfect man, and able to bridle the whole body.”

  9. The Piercing TongueProv 12:18.. (hait na dila) –The Lord admonishes us… Colossians 4:6; Titus 2:8
  10. The Silent Tongue – The silent tongue is sinful because we have been commanded to witness for our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 1:8. To be silent about Christ is to sin against Christ. Mark 8:38

 

Let us ask the Holy Spirit to remind us of the sins we have done against others, against ourselves, and against God, confess these sins and ask God for forgiveness.

For the sins of defiling God’s Name through money and material wealth

For the sins of greed, pride, disobedience, rebellion, lack of love and concern for others

For the sins of fear, unbelief, prayerlessness, complacency

For the sins of looking down to others and esteeming ourselves more holy and more righteous

For the sin of imprudence and passing judgment against others

For the sins of business dealings, of giving and taking bribes

For the sins of evil inclinations of the desires of the flesh, and improper thoughts

For the sins of disrespect against parents and against authorities, and against the law of the land

For the sins of disrespect against parents and against authorities, and against the law of the land

 

Psalms 139: 23-24 “Search me O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there be any wicked ways in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
