A firebrand spirit

October 5, 2015 at dawn, I woke up from a dream. In my dream: I planned to put up a business. After my dad escorted me to the business site, I went alone to the rented space for my planned business. It doesn’t have complete walls.

Armed gun men came harassing the people in that place including me. I learned that they are Muslims wanting to annihilate Christians. One Muslim armed man approached me, while pointing his gun to me, he asked, “Are you a Christian?” I was not able to answer him, fear was with me. My tongue seemed tied and kept inside my mouth. I was to point of death or to deny my faith as he was about to shoot me when at the niche of time a miracle had saved me. Behind me, the door was opened and I saw the feet of the Lord, but I wonder where the nail prints are. His feet have wood attached on it and above the wood were large nails connecting to his flesh. He was carrying baggage including the garbage of people on His back.

He rescued me on that sin when He arrived, I could have died. He gave me hope and would want to be in replacement of me, won’t want me to be hurt, like a martyr He’s willing to die for me.

After that incident. I was trying to justify my coward action so I asked a compromising and lukewarm Christian whose also a business man, “If you could be in that situation, what will you do? Will you deny Christ?”

He said, “No! Ofcourse not!” He was so sure about it.

So you’re willing to die?”

-end of my dream.

I felt so bad about how I acted in that dream, in the middle of that situation of choosing between life and death, whether to deny Christ or to be a martyr. So I cried and cried, I was not able to get back to sleep until morning, I just cried and repented and asked the Lord not to let me deny Him if I were already in a real situation like that in my dream, to give me a firebrand spirit.

A firebrand Spirit (Daniel 3:16-18)

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, o king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, o king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

While meditating on the Word of God, these Scripture was opened to me.

Jesus Predicts His Death (Luke 9: 23-27)

23 Then He said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

27 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”

Warnings and Encouragements (Luke 12: 4-12)

“I tell you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

“I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

11 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

To God be the glory!
