The enemy of Israel wanted to use fear tactics against them, the aim was that the people would yield in submission before a shot is fired, will get them to bend to their will, to only the mind game of fear.
If there is a way the devil seeks control, it is through fear (he seeks to get you without even making the effort, except working on your mind), because he can’t really get you otherwise, since your life is hidden in God in Christ Jesus (Colossians 3:3).
